Chapter 9. infirmary

--- in the infirmary ---

Y/N slowly opened her eyes. Everything was blurry at first. She saw a creme cealing. When she looked around she found herself in the familiar surroundings. It was Hogwarts' infirmary. There were only empty unmade beds. It seemed that she was now the only one left.

Her head throbbed in pain as she tried to sit up. She groaned softly. Full of confusion, she tried to recalled what had happened. As she tried to stand up, Y/N suddenly heard Professor McGonagall. She was standing in the door opening and was talking to another elderly woman and her son. The woman's face looked vaguely familiar to her, but Y/N couldn't quite place whose at first.

Suddenly, she saw Rose walking towards the woman and hugging her in a warm hug. "Mom!" she exclaimed, her voice full of joy. Rose's little brother, stood nearby and looked a little sheepish. "Hugo why didn't you tell me mom arrived?" At that moment, Professor McGonagall soften with concern. She commanded Rose, Hugo and their mother Hermione to walk with her and led them away from the infirmary.

Meanwhile, the nurse from the infirmary arrived, with a friendly smile on her face. She began tending Y/N's injuries. "How are you feeling now?" she asked gently as she checked Y/N's vital signs. During the examination, she felt another sharp pain pounding in her head.
The nurse told her to take some rest would make sure the visitors wouldn't interrupte her while resting.

The next day, Y/N squirmed as she tried to get out of bed, still slightly feeling the lingering pain. Lilly burst into the room and hugged her tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay! I was worried about you. How dare you go to the forbidden forest alone. Luckily, my aunt found you before the dementors came to get you. " exclaimed Lilly, in a voice full of genuine concern.

Y/N's eyebrows rolled in bewilderment. " Sorry I... wait what...?" she started, but her voice stopped when Lilly explained that her aunt Hermoine Weasley Granger had found her in the Forbidden Forest. The shadows she saw were dementors. They did not normally come near Hogwarts. But lately, strange events have been playing out around the school again.

Before Y/N could process this revelation, Albus and Scorpius both entered the room, with mix of concern and determination felt a blush on her cheeks. Were they really there for her? Realising what she looked like, she tried to hide herself. She felt ashamed
What would they thinking of her. She looked like a mess.

Albus sat next to y/n on the hospital bed. This was becoming standard by now. His gaze was unwavering as he spoke. "Hey.... We were worried when we heard what happened. Please know that we are here for you." he reassured her, his voice firm and reassuring. He put his hand on her back. This made Y/n slowly look in his direction.

In the meantime, Scorpius flipped open his notebook and started flipping through it. His notebook was a collection of stories and pictures about recent events. Y/N caught a glimpse of a page with a time-tuner on it.

"Cool a time-turner?" Lilly said with her eyes filled with interest. But Albus and Scorpius looked at each other understandingly and their expressions mirrored each other. "Just don't try it! Otherwise our parents will curse us all again." they warned, their voices laced with a mixture of caution and concern. Y/N laughed to their synchronised response. As she settled back on her comfortable sick bed, she knew she was in good hands with her friends by her side. Then Hugo walked into the infirmary. Lilly rushed to greet her nephew with a warm hug. Her face beaming with affection.

Y/N was curious about Scorpius's notebook and gathered the courage to ask if she could look at it. Scorpius gladly handed it over and their hands touched briefly while exchanging. Y/N's cheeks blushed with embarrassment at the unexpected contact, but Scorpius only smiled in response, his eyes twinkling with amusement. Albus, seeing the interaction, couldn't help but feel a stab of irritation. He shifted his attention to Hugo and threw him a warm smile of welcome.

However, the atmosphere was abruptly broken when Rose stormed into the infirmary, her expression dark with anger. Without a any kind of greeting, she ran angerly towards Y/N and ss she grabbed Y/N by the collar. She burst out a cry. "What do you think you were doing?" demanded Rose, her voice laced with frustration. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
Y/N's eyes widened at Rose's sudden outburst. Rose's words hit Y/N like a slap in the face.

Before Y/N could respond, Scorpius rushed to Rose, gently pulling her away from Y/N in an attempt to calm her down. Hugo followed, casting a worried glance back at Y/N before disappearing from the infirmary with Scorpius and his sister.

Leaving her alone with Lilly and Albus. Y/N felt a heavy weight in her chest. Lilly and Albus exchanged solemn glances, their expressions reflecting the seriousness of the situation.

Lilly's voice broke the silence and reminded Y/N that she needed to get to class. Albus hesitated, however he came up with an excuse. Lilly cast him a curious glance but eventually left the infirmary, leaving Y/N and Albus alone.

Albus's attention turned around again and looked at y/n. He was silent for a moment and then rejoined her. He stroked aside a loose strand of y/n's hair so that it would fell behind her ear. With that, Scorpius' s notebook, which he had forgotten, fell to the floor.

Albus and Y/N both wanted to pick it up at the same time. Their heads accidentally collided, giving Y/N another stab of pain. Albus quickly apologised.

He then put his hand on hers. Suddenly she felt a bit akward and started blushing heavily. She handed over the notebook to Albus. It was time to leave. Albus nodded, his own cheeks tinged with pink blush as he stumbled over his words saying goodbye. " Don't forget to pack your bags he Y/N, we'll come and pick you up after classes for the autumn holidays."

Y/N smiled gently, her heart fluttering with anticipation at the thought of seeing him again. With a final nod, Albus left, leaving Y/N alone.

Was he starting to like her? The realisation of this question startled her. How could she look him straight in the eye him after what just happend? She was puzzeld and looked outside the window.
