As I walked through the school gates there were still whispers but this time they were different. There was still pointing but this time they weren’t laughing at me or teasing me; they were admiring me and staring in awe. I swiftly flicked my straight black hair over my shoulder and kept my head high, not looking at anyone. A few guys came up and asked for my number but I just ignored them and kept walking.

When I reached my locker Axel and Jasmine were there again. They stared pointedly at me as if they were trying to scare me. Even though I used to be scared of them I'm not anymore. This is the new me; the old me would have cowered under they stares but not anymore.

“Yes?” I raised an eyebrow as I said it and unlocked my lock.

“You do know that locker is taken don’t you?” it was Axel who spoke so I turned towards him.

“I do actually, I'm not stupid you know,” I pointed out and turned back to my locker. I put my bag away and grabbed my books for first class. As I headed towards the stairs a hand grabbed my arm, a man’s hand might I add.

“Leah?” Axel whispered.

“Yes?” I turned and smiled at him. He let go of my arm and I looked around him at Jasmine only to see her sputtering with her jaw basically on the floor. I walked off and went to homeroom while smiling like I had just won the lottery. The bell rang just as I sat down and people started flooding in. I sat in my normal seat and people gave me strange looks which I just ignored. After the teacher was in and had silenced everyone he began roll marking.

“Jason Kelly?”

“Yep,”

“Kaylee Points?”

“Here,”

“Leah Gold?”

“Here,” as I said this everyone turned and stared at me, a few gasping while others whispered to their friends. I smiled smugly while the teacher started calling names again.

By lunch the news had spread that I, Leah Marie Gold, had become beautiful. I mean I had always been beautiful but now I was flaunting it. The sound of a chair scraping brought me back to earth and I put my head up to glare at the person but stopped short when I realised it was Jasmine.

“What do you want?” I said suspiciously.

“I wanted to tell you that just because you changed the way you look doesn’t mean that your going to be popular.” She hissed lowly. I stared pointedly at her.

“Who said I wanted to be popular?” I raised an eyebrow at her and continued eating.

“You’re still the same slut as you were before. Everybody still hates you and that isn’t going to change anytime soon,” she growled and turned to leave.

“I hope you realise that I don’t give a fuck about you or what you say,” I muttered and she stopped dead in her tracks, “You and Axel have made my life hell for the past two years and I'm sick of it. It’s my turn for revenge and I don’t care if I don’t become popular but I'm going to destroy you and your little boyfriend,”

She gasped and stalked off towards Axel. I chuckled under my breath and stood, chucking my rubbish in the bin and moving out of the lunch area to my locker.

I walked down the stairs and to my black 2008 Holden Barina TK and turned the key. As I started reversing out of the parking space another car went speeding past me and came to abrupt halt, the tires making marks on the gravel. I stopped my car and slammed open the door, I was pissed. My father bought me this car and it was my most prized possession.
