Stella's POV
I walk into Aiden's school to find him already there talking with his friends. I smile when I see him acting normal. He's always been a little different, and that's to be expected.
But he's also been the smallest kid in his grade, and that's also to expected. He doesn't even know why, but Dad, me, and my best friend Dustin do.
He's a very special thirteen year old boy, and there's a reason for it. Again only the three of us know, because it would be dangerous for Aiden to know.
He sees me, and smiles. He says goodbye to his friends, and runs over to me.
"Ready?" I ask.
"Yup" he says, and we both walk outside to my car.
We get in, and start driving home.
"Why do you always drive me home?" he asks me.
"Because I want to." I answer.
"But even when you and Dad are both busy I'm still not allowed to take the bus home. Dustin has to drive me, and he get's annoying when you have to basically live with him." Aiden says, and I laugh a little.
"Okay I'll admit that Dustin can be a little annoying sometimes, but the reason is because we want you to be safe."
"But you take the bus home sometimes."
"Well I'm three years older than you." I say, and we pull into the driveway.
"Why do you and Dad treat me like I'm four?" Aiden asks still sitting in the carI take out the keys, and sit there with him.
"Aiden...There are things that we can't tell you just yet...But I promise you will know soon enough."
"Like what? What reason could there possibly be that would prevent me from taking the bus home?" he asks.
"It's not just the bus. You'll know when you're older."
"How much older? I'm already thirteen. I'm a teenager now."
"Yes you are, but you still need me and Dad."
"I could live without you guys."
"Trust me. You couldn't. What if a tickle monster came up and attacked you?"
"Hey!" he says when I start tickling him.
"Come on," I say laughing a bit still, "Let's get inside."
Aiden's POV
We get inside, and I walk into the kitchen.
"Hey Dad." I say, and sit at the island.
"Hey, Aiden. How was school?" he asks.
"Same as always."
"And what does that mean?" Dad asks.
"Dad?" Stella says walking into the kitchen.
"Yes, princess?"
"I just got a call from the principal at Aiden's school."
