PART TEN- whos afraid of little old me?

Im sat on the floor in the corner of the training room. Bells and kenji are here with me because i told them i needed to talk with them.

"Soo whats up kid?" Kenji asks. I dont know when i managed to get the nickname kid but he calls me that all the time. I like it.

I close my eyes and let out a shaky breath.

"Aurora? Are you okay?" Bellas voice this time.

"I have an ability." I whispered. It felt good to tell them, the weight was lifted off my shoulders.

"Wait what, for real!?" Kenji asks surprised.

"What is it?" Bella asks

"Element control." I say. "Ive already learned to control it and all, ive knows since i was like four years old."

"Thats so cool." Kenji smiles.

I was always afraid that people would be scared of me because of my powers, i dont want that. Kenji and bella and managed to convince me to show them my ability.

I hold out my hand and focus, i feel the power in my bones. I summon the earth element and i feel a daisy grow out of my palm.

I force a smile. Hoping they wouldnt react badly.

"Thats so cute!!" Bella says picking the flower from my hand.

"What other stuff can you do?" Kenji asks. Hes still curious. I know he wants to see me cause a tsunami or set sector 45 base on fire. But i wont do that.

I focus again, and this time cause a small fire in my palm.

"Is that good enough for you?" I laugh. "Because causing an earth quake would be cool, but not a good idea"

Kenji grins, bella does too. It feels so amazing having friends like them.

I walk back upstairs to my room, i unlock the door and walk in.

I shower and change into a white skirt and grey jumper, then i head down to lunch. As im walking down the corridor i hear the soldiers whispering as i pass.

"Did you know shes got powers?"

"Yeah i saw this morning"

"Gonna try and keep my distance now i dont want her to throw a fireball at me"

"Me too, im a bit more scared of her now. Imagine if she got angry and killed us all with her powers?"

I feel tears in my eyes, this is exactly what i didn't want, people scared of me. But now they are. I wish i could just go haha April fools, but i cant because i do have powers and they are not going away any time soon.

I close my eyes for a minute and steady myself, i try to shake it off, their words should mean nothing. But they dont, i care too much about peoples opinions.

I walk down to lunch and grab some potato salad and a smoothie. I sit down with bella and kenji, aaron is working today so he cant come down for lunch.

"You good?" Kenji asks.

"Yeah you look upset." Izzie adds.

"They are talking about me" i say sadly motioning toward the soldiers.

"Are they talking about your powers?" Bella says.

I nod. "They were saying how they are scared i will get angry and kill them. Why are they afraid of me?" I ask trying not to cry.

" because you have a new power, who cares what they think?" Kenji says.

Me, i care what everyone thinks of me, and its so stupid.

"What do i even do about it though?" I ask.

"Tomorrow, Aaron has an assembly if you go up there with him and throw a fireball, or rip the earth from the ground. Anything like that, they will be intimated, i know you want everybody to think your harmless but your not. So tomorrow i need you to do that okay? Show them that the should be afraid and keep their mouths shut." Bella says.

"Okay" i whisper, dragging my hands along my face.

"Ill even tell him what your gonna do tomorrow, that way you can just focus." She smiles.

I nod and get up from the table.

By the time im in my room i collapse onto the bed. I dont want people to be afraid and intimidated by me, but i also dont want them to be mean about me.

I feel myself slowly start falling asleep.

TIME SKIP
10:53pm

My eyes start to flutter open, im woken up to Aaron . He's changing my clothes.

"Shh. Go back to sleep, love." He whispers.

I close my eyes again, i feel him lay down into the bed beside me and wrap his arms around my waist.

Before i know it im asleep again.

TIME SKIP
9:15am

I woke up to Aaron, he was playing with the ends of my hair.

"Good morning, love." He whispers

"Hi" i say sleepily.

"You should get ready now."

"Okay."

I walk into the bathroom and turn on the shower. Once im done i use my air powers to dry my hair.

I walk into the closet and look at the dresses, i pick a light blue one.

I put it on and then curl my hair.

I walk back out and over to my vanity, i do my normal makeup routine spray some perfume and then i tell Aaron im ready.

He takes my hand and we walk to the balcony where he does the assemblies.

Once all the soldiers have filed in, they stand in silence.

Aaron starts talking to them, but im not focussed on that, my main focus is on what im about to do, lena is going to see this.

My parents will know.

I take a deep breath, aaron goes silent.

I walk over to the microphone.

"I have heard some of you talking about me having powers," i start nervously.

" you were saying you should be afraid of me, because i could get angry and kill you all at any second." I say

"I will have you know, that is true." I say hearing gasps throughout the soldiers.

"I used to think why would anyone be afraid of me? Ive never lost control? Or done anything wrong, but know i want you to know. You should be afraid." I say as i throw my hands into the air sending two huge fireballs into the sky.

They look terrified. They should be.
