The air was cool on this early spring night. Everything was quiet and peaceful, even the river was more quiet than usual. The only real noise was the footsteps of the two Ghouls who were walking on the gravel path. They weren't talking, but they were fine with that. A rustling in the woods ahead of them caught their attention and they stopped.

'What's that?' The smaller Ghoul, named Rain, asked. The bigger Ghoul, named Mountain, shook his head as he scanned the tree line.

All of a sudden something shot out of the trees and tumbled into the river.
'Is that a... person?' Rain asked as they watched the person crawl out of the river.

As the person got up they could see that it was a young man, wearing only a pair of dirty pants.

As soon as he was back on his feet he started sprinting. He had a bad limp and collapsed after a few meters. He tried to get back up but failed. While he was trying again the two Ghouls had reached him.

'Hey man, are you okay?' Mountain kneeled down next to the guy, who was just muttering to himself while laying on his side. Mountain looked back at Rain who just shrugged.

'Are you okay?' Mountain repeated as he gently touched the guy's shoulder. The guy froze for a second and then tried to get up again. He managed to take a few steps, passing out a few meters away.

'Do you think he's on something?' Rain asked as Mountain picked the young man up. He shook his head as he looked down.

'No, but there is definitely something wrong with him.' He said as they went back to the church.
