James is a prototype L&YR Class 28. He was a contract engine who was getting tired halfway through runs. When the NWR bought James, James went into the shed, falling asleep.
On April 4th, 1938, The pesky troublesome trucks crashed James into a farm, the cows startled, ran away.
On June 8th, 1976, he got stung by a bee in the nose.
