ELETALE (VOLUME 1)

chapter two: awakening magic, part one

back at the magic world, a man and his small goblin companion were just walking in silence, but the silence didn't last long since the goblin likes to talk. they were at a magical forest just walking through.

“chaser, do you think the king is out of it?” the goblin whispers as he looks around for eavesdroppers.

chaser sighs, “forjes, for the last time we are not talking about the king. besides, i wouldn't be surprised if he was.”

that made forjes sigh. he knew if only there were some witches that would defeat the king, they wouldn't be in this position. but, it's been over two decades since the last generation of witches were discovered, and that team didn't last.

speaking of witches, twelve leaves started to fall on the two. it made the two stop walking as chaser more annoyed than ever as forjes caught one in his hand.

“look chaser, a yellow leaf!”

chaser rolls his eyes, “yeah yeah what does that have to do with anything?”

“it's glowing!”

that made chaser look closely at the leaf, and made him gasp for the first time in his life. it was even more shocking when the rest of the leaves that fell started to glow. not only they were glowing, but they were twelve different shapes: a heart, flame, lightning bolt, sun, fox, flower, ghost, power button, blowing wind, water drop, crescent moon and snowflake. that could only mean one thing.

“you mean…there's a new generation of witches?! but how?!” chaser was at a loss for words. he couldn't even think to himself at the moment.

meanwhile, forjes was jumping for joy. he was excited for this moment, knowing that there was hope that the king will be dethroned.

“chaser, there's still hope. there's still hope!”

chaser wanted to cry tears of happiness, “i can see it now.”

then, two more leaves fell down to the ground. forjes walked towards them and gasps, “chaser, look! two more leaves fell down!”

chaser walked towards the leaves, taking a closer look, “there's three music notes in similar colors and a beige star. could this mean there's sixteen witches?!”

“could be!” forjes nodded.

chaser blinks, “damn, this is more serious than ever. forjes, we must find them!”

without saying another word, the duo turned around and ran away from the forest.

back in the real world, chiara and anemone were brainstorming ideas for their new comic.

anemone jumps from the chair, knocking it over, “ah, i got one! what if we made it about a girl discovering she has superpowers?”

chiara hums as she picks up the chair, “first things first, be careful. second, that's not a bad idea, but what happens in the comic besides that?”

“she's like a superhero, and fights crime and saves the world from villains!” anemone says with a proud smile.

chiara nods, typing in her notes app about what anemone was saying.
