Ryleighs POV
.
A Year Later
Life was weird. It was pretty damn good. Which is weird. Life is not supposed to be good. Life is supposed to be boring. But I guess you could 'live life to its fullest' if you really wanted to, but you know what I really don't want to.
Now I'm here again 1 year later starting sophomore year of college, to catch you up on the last year. Okay so, Tanner kind of found out about the baby in a little unexpected way, like from his current ex-girlfriend at the time.
But Brooklyn had the baby in November and Jax is so cute. He literally looks like you could just eat him. After Jax was born Tanner and Brooklyn finally came to their senses and got back together and then married last month. So now my best friend is my sister in law. That sounds weird.
Now, I'm sure y'all are all wondering, what happened to the dorm boy? What happened to the dorm boy? Did Y'all move in together? Are y'all friends? And the simple answer to that is no. We have only talked maybe like 10 times in the past year.
The only time I see him is at the gym during practice. I will be at practice and will look out and see him in the stands. I think it is because the baseball boys practice in the fall to get ready for the spring season. And also the workout room is off of the gym.
I have figured out a lot in the first year in school. I know that the guy's name is Easton and Caysee is also on the baseball team.
I met this guy. His name is Cameron but I call him Cam. We met at a party one of my first weeks here and we have been really good friends ever since then. He is also on the baseball team. Which may or may not be why I have so much info on the team.
"Kaiten! Down and ready" Coach yells at me. It catches my attention and makes me focus back on the court instead of the bleachers. I wonder how long I had been staring.
Coach threw me a down ball and had a simple pass to Maise who set it up to Bergen who downed it back at the coach.
I don't mind playing in the back row but it can tick me off sometimes. I am a setter but Maise was setting right now which meant I had to play back row. We did that play a few times over and over before I could set.
Maise gave me a perfect pass and I took my left then right foot and set it to Bergen.
"Alright that's it for today ladies" the coach tells us. I'm glad that practice is over but also If I'm not practicing I'm studying and I prefer to practice rather than do school. But I have to keep up pretty good grades to keep my scholarship.
Today is Friday, but I'm lucky when I go home I don't have to study. I walk off the court and grab a sip of water and start to unlace my shoes. "Sup Ry," Cam says, taking a seat beside me. "Hey, how was your workout?" I ask him.
"Good, definitely going to be sore tomorrow though. How was practice?" he asks. "Not too bad" I tell him. "So what are you going to do this weekend?" he starts to ask but is soon interrupted by the baseball boys. "Aww, look, it's the two lovebirds" one of the guys says. "How's your girlfriend Cam?" Easton says.
"Shut up" I say, shaking my head. The guys like to tease Cam about me and him dating even though we aren't. There are no feelings between us. We are simply just platonic best friends. Like can't a guy and a girl be friends and not have a crush on each other. The guys know that we are not dating but they still like to say it just to piss us off.
"You sure, you're JUST friends?" Caysee says. "Oh, fuck off" Cam says punching him in the shoulder. "Sorry we know you prefer guys" another one says. Cam is also not gay that's just another thing they like to tease him about.
