He pulled down the driveway looking at the big house, contemplating. Cooper sat in his car in the driveway with his face in his hand. He looked up and over at the house. He sighed before he opened his car door and slowly approached the house. He crept up the steps to the front door and took 3 big knocks. There was no answer. Cooper knocked again. Cooper put his hand on the door handle. He slowly swung the door open.

Cooper slowly pulled the gun out of his holster and started walking around the house. The floor creaked below him. The T.V was on which caught Cooper's attention.

"A shipment container to the CDC has unexpectedly crashed," A voice said on the T.V. "We are unsure of the containments, the scene of the crime is being cleaned up now, We suggest that everyone lock your windows and doors and stay inside until further notice,"

Cooper walked past the living room which had the T.V on the right and walked into the kitchen at the end of the hall. The cupboards were emptied and things were thrown everywhere. Cooper's heart dropped and he assumed the worst. Pushing his feelings aside he kept looking. He walked back out into the hall which had a staircase on the opposite side from the living room which led to another hallway.

It had a gray carpet which led to a room on the end, a bathroom and a bedroom on the right and another bedroom on the left. The only door that was closed was at the end of the hall. Cooper slowly walked down the hall with his gun loaded while peeping into the other rooms.

When Cooper got to the end of the hallway he placed his hand on the doorknob which was painted gold. He took a deep breath and tried to open it but it was locked. Cooper looked around the long dark hallway before he threw his body at the locked door causing it to swing open. The room was big and dark. Cooper had to squint to see around. There were kids' toys all over the place. Cooper slowly crept around the room, when he turned the corner to look into a bathroom at the end of this big room he was met with a metal baseball bat. It hit him on the side of the face, sending him to the floor.

When Cooper woke up he was in the corner of a new room. Mr Halman was standing over him holding his gun.

"Why are you here again, so you can try and steal MY family," Mr Halman said.

Cooper stayed silent, Mr Halman was a scary guy. Cooper wiped the spit off his face on his shoulder and looked Mr Halman back in the eyes. Mr Halman flinched towards Cooper trying to scare him but Cooper didn't break eye contact.

"Listen, I couldn't give a rat's ass about you, I want to get MY family to safety. Not far from here is the detective station," Cooper said, now looking at the ground. "Do this for Marissa," He said looking back at Mr Halman.

Mr Halman walked out of the room and moments later Cooper heard chattering outside the door.

"Listen Matthew this could be good for us, we can keep Amy safe, we don't know what to expect out of this virus and they have got guns and food and maybe other kids," Marissa said.

Cooper looked at the ground as Mr Halman walked back into the room. He sat Cooper up and cut the zip tie. Cooper rubbed his wrist where the zip tie had cut into it leaving red marks.

"Go on, take us there," Matthew Halman said, pointing the knife towards the door.

Cooper walked out the door of the boiler room and into the dark basement. There were boxes and pipes everywhere. Cooper walked up the hardwood stairs. Cooper squinted as the setting sun hit his eyes.

Cooper pulled up the station. There were detectives holding guns at the front of the building and the glass doors were protected by a metal shutter. Cooper walked up to the building after turning off his car. The other 3 followed closely behind. Cooper nodded at one of the detectives and banged on the shutter door.
