THE volleyball team was now warming up. Mariana ended up being right on time, the whole team was on the line waiting for her. She dropped her bags and ran. The team was in there huddle talking while the other team did there hitting lines.
Mariana spotted her brother in the crowd with multiple boys next to her. It was very important to the two to do their handshake. Mariana looked at her coach and he gave her the I already know look. The girl ran over to him and stuck out her pinky.
"Don't be rude introduce yourself." Isaac denied her finger.
"Girl I-. Hi I'm Mariana, his sister." she looked at all the boys then reverted her attention back to her brother. "We were already late because of you." then the girl stuck her pinky out again. There fingers interlocked and then the two put their heads together and mumbled their prayer. She pulled away the two hugged and then she was pushed away from him, Mariana looked up at the other boys waving to them goodbye and ran off.
"Why does your sister have a different color jersey?" Nelson asked watching the girl run back to the huddle.
"She plays libero, So different color jersey" the group nodded.
"Bro if no one going to say it I will she is bad" The whole group side eyed Nelson. "You guys can't even cap."
"Little boy she is too old for you." Lavar said laughing.
"Actually nah. She is your age Nelson." Isaac said.
"She is my age on a 17u team?" Nelson sounded shocked.
"Yeah she is pretty decent." he smiled to the group.
The group was now doing their hitting lines. Mariana had just passed the ball to the setter which went to our outside. Then again passing the ball this time going to the right side. Mariana cheered every time they would hit hoping to give them confidence. Mariana was know as the baby of the team also the most energetic and supportive. Their team was very much skilled. Considering they were division one.
The game had just started they were in Serve Receive One. "Hey guys come on let's go! I got your deeps." she looked to her side talking to her middle back. The ball had just been served straight to Ari, the setter, so Mariana ran up to go set, she back set to the outside. Which was dug by the other team. Mariana was quick to aline herself with the hitter, and dug the ball as well. Ari set the ball to the middle causing the team to get their first point. Mariana's celebration was very funny immediately dropping to the ground and hitting the floor quickly before getting up to celebrate with her team.
It was now Marianas turn to serve, she bounced the ball a couple times before looking to her coach to see what number she wanted to serve, and that's what she did straight to five. Mariana got an ACE. "Coach can I do my hybrid?" she asked smiling, the coach was hesitant but nodded yes. Mariana had been working on her hybrid for so long but she knew her nerves might catch up to her. She started to do her routine before throwing the ball in there air and shooting it out by far. She made an embarrassed face before the whole team going to her and laughing with her. The game was now officially over they ended up winning 2-1. They lost the first set 25-23, won the second set 26-24, and won the third set 18-16.
"Alright guys. We have one more game the next game is in 2 hours, go kill some time and support RWE's game. Since they came to ours, least we can do! Good job today." the team called their chant before leaving the court. Mariana ended up putting her brother's sweater on over her jersey and left her leggings on.
