"...We've been dating for a while." she briefly said, her expression showing regret.

Atom forced a smile, trying to hide her true feelings.

"I see..." she said, her soft voice sounding a little forced.

At Atom's strange reaction, Anda frowned, feeling the tension in the air.

"What is wrong, Atom?" Anda asked, her voice concerned.

Before Atom could respond, a sudden, loud noise pierced the air, interrupting the conversation.

*Loud noise*

"Ah!"

Atom gave a frightened scream, her voice sounding panicked. And, without thinking, she threw herself into Anda's arms looking for comfort.

Anda was startled by the sudden reaction but instinctively wrapped Atom in a protective embrace. For a moment, they remained like that, locked in an embrace, as the sound of the thunder rumbled outside.

Anda found herself captivated by the sight of Atom's face so close to hers.

Atom's features were delicate yet striking, her eyes reflecting surprise. Her dark lashes fluttered as she blinked, her lips slightly parted as if in anticipation of the next sound of thunder.

Anda couldn't help but admire the beauty of Atom's face, illuminated by the natural light streaming into the room. Her heart skipped a beat as she took in the curve of Atom's cheekbones, the graceful arc of her brows, and the way her hair looked so beautiful.

And her scent, Atom's perfume was a soft blend of floral and musk that was intoxicating. It added to the moment's intimacy, making Anda's heart skip a beat.

When the thunder finally stopped, Atom walked away with embarrassment.

"Sorry about that," she murmured, her voice still shaky. "I guess I'm a little scared of thunder."

Anda nodded understandingly, although she was still in awe by the sudden warmness of Atom's body.

"It is okay. I know." Anda gave a reassuring smile.

Since they were little, Anda knew that Atom had an irrational fear of loud noises, especially thunder. It was a memory that went back to childhood, when they played together in Anda's backyard during summer storms. Atom was always apprehensive when thunder echoed in the sky, and Anda, like a good friend, did her best to calm her down.

Even now, years later, Atom's fear still remained. It was a constant reminder of her fragility behind the facade of confidence she often displayed. Anda vividly remembered the times she held Atom's during storms, offering safety.

Another noise of thunder echoed across the afternoon sky, interrupting the moment. Now both jumped slightly in surprise, their eyes meeting briefly.

"Wow, it looks like a huge storm is coming," Atom commented, her tone somewhat nervous. "I think I should go now" Atom said with faint voice.

Anda looked outside and saw dark clouds gathering on the horizon, foreshadowing a rain.

Therefore, when rain fell outside the room, Anda was not surprised by Atom's reaction. She immediately recognized the look of panic in the girl's eyes and knew instinctively what to do.

Despite the strange circumstances surrounding them at that moment, Anda felt an unshakable urge to care for Atom, to be there for her.

She was worried for Atom's safety.
