We Belong Together

I KNEW HIM

(It was yet another day in school, and we had guidance and counselling sessions at school. I was with my friends Malakai and Susan.)

ME: You see that mysterious boy you told me about, he lives next door and his name is Dustin and he actually knows my name I don't know how.

MALAKAI: Is he stalking you or what ?

ME: I really don't know

SUSAN: Honey, I think he likes u

(I was blushing, and it was pretty obvious)

MALAKAI: You should stay away from him. u don't know his intentions

SUSAN: Are u jealous ?

MALAKAI: What do u mean I am not.

(As Malakai and Susan were arguing, I saw Dustin across the room. I looked at him,he looked back and saw me looking and winked at me...and i smiled)

ME:Did y'all see that🤭

SUSAN:What??

ME: Never mind.

(The day was over, and when I got home, everything was quiet. i called out to my mom, and she was not answering. I looked all over the house)

ME: MOM? MOM! I shouted (I saw my mom lying on the floor unconscious)

ME: Somebody help !!!!!!!!
(I called 911)

DUSTIN: Are you okay??

ME:My mom help me get her up and put her on the bed.

DUSTIN: What happened?

ME:i really don't know, maybe she is sick

(We heard a knock outside, and it was the doctors they came and checked on my mom. In the meantime, we were told to stay outside the room)

(I started crying )

DUSTIN:Why are u crying... don't cry🥺

ME:It's all my fault, I wasn't here to look after my mom. Maybe she has been sick all this while, and I did not realise

DUSTIN: Don't blame yourself. Things happen for a reason ( he gave me a warm, tight hug and wiped my tears)

(The doctors came and told us my mom has diabetes and she now she needs proper care , I was the one who was gonna take care of her since my dad left us while I was 3 years old)

ME:I will take care of her. Just give me the prescriptions of the medicine

(The doctors gave me the prescription and then left)

DUSTIN: I am glad that all of that is taken care of .If u need any help, just call me. Here is my number

(He gave me his number and then left. I asked myself, "Is this the beginning of everything because My point of view changed from how he helped me. I saw him on a new light. I liked him even more)
