Ch.11
Her house was dark and gloomy. The darkness folded and the sounds of nothing folded over that. You couldn't even see the house from where we were standing. Even the trees became very still and their breath was taken away. Life, time, Ben, and I stood waiting and watching for something to happen; for someone to pop out and scare us. I, leaving the group and coming back to reality slowly made my way up the path through the big black fence, the smell of death was strong. Ben couldn't move, and I didn't want him too. He had been through enough already. So I moved on, getting closer and closer to the house. But when a small beam of light came through the grey covering, I realized that there wasn't a house there, just a pile of rubbish.
