Chapter 4- It took me by surprise

It was 5th period, and Jake was in Art class, doing a project with his friends, Hana, Evelyn, and Joshua. They all were huddled around their desks, discussing the project and brainstorming ideas for it. The teacher, Hollow Moon, was going about the project and the steps to do it. Jake listened intently as she spoke, Hana was decorating the project with glitter, Evelyn was gluing the project together, and Joshua was talking to Jake. Jake was enjoying himself doing a project with his friends.

Jake was having a great time, the excitement and the cheerful atmosphere of working with his friends almost completely made him forget about the events that had happened with Sara. Hana finished applying the glitter, the result was a sparkling spectacle that resembled a disco ball more than an actual project. Evelyn had finished gluing, while Hana was admiring her work. "We look pretty great, huh?" she said with a grin. Joshua looked at the project and chuckled, "I think you might have gone a little overboard with the glitter, Hana."

"What? there is nothing wrong with it, it adds more flare," Hana said happily, "Besides, it adds more magic to our project."  Jake smiled, "Yeah, Hana is right, if we wanna get a good grade, we need to add some flare and magic to our project." Jake said confidently. Joshua laughed, "Okay twink." Jake playfully hit Joshua lightly on the shoulder. "Hey! I'm not a twink," he protested. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say."

Meanwhile, Hana was admiring her glitter-covered hands, with a satisfied smile on her face. "See? Glitter makes everything better!" she said, waving her hands around, causing a small cloud of sparkles to float around them. Evelyn rolled her eyes and intervened, "Let's get back to the project, guys. We still have to add the final touches." Jake nodded in agreement, "Yeah, let's finish this up. I'm sure Ms. Hollow Moon will love our project."

As they add the final touches Jake looks the other way, he was Ze looking at him with a glare that can kill an elephant. Jake starts to tense up. He tried to remain calm, but he couldn't help feeling a pang of anxiety. He looked away to focus on the project, but he could still feel Ze's gaze burning into him. Jake's heart started to race, his palms growing sweaty. He couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

Hana, noticing Jake's tension, turned to look in the same direction and saw Ze staring at him. With a concerned look, she nudged Jake. "Hey, you okay? You look a bit... tense." Hana whispered. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just... Ze's staring at me. It's kind of unnerving." Jake nervously whispered.  Evelyn, overhearing the conversation, turned to look as well. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw Ze's glare. "She is just doing that because of last week. Just ignore her." Evelyn said calmly. Jake nodded, trying to shake off the weight of Ze's gaze. He continued working on the project, but his thoughts kept wandering back to Ze's hostile glare. Jake could feel her eyes still on him, like a predator studying its prey.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Jake sighed with relief, glad that the class was finally over. He looked at his friends, who were packing up their things, looking cheerful and at ease. Jake smiled. As he tried to pack up his things, Jake's heart sank when he saw Ze approaching him. Her eyes were filled with hatred and anger as she approached. "You think you can fool me? I know you did it, you bastard!" Jake, taken aback, quickly retorted, "I didn't do it! You have no idea what you're talking about!" Ze was enraged by Jake's denial, her hand flew up, and she delivered a sharp, stinging slap to his face.

The sound of Ze's slap echoed throughout the room, causing everyone to turn and look at them. The room fell into a deafening silence as all eyes, including their classmates and even the teachers, turned towards Jake and Ze. "Don't lie to me! I know you did it! You evil freak!" Ze's voice was filled with venom and conviction. "Ze please... just listen-"

"piece of shit! I know you had something to do with Sara's death !! you freak!" Ze yelled. Jake was in tears, "Ze, you need to listen to me. I would never do something like that-" But, before Jake could finish his sentence...

Hana and Joshua: Jake watch out !!

Jacy and Emily: Ze don't!!-

Jake barely registered the warning cries from his friends, but it was too late. Ze lunged at him with a terrifying speed. The scissors slashed through the air. Jake, felt a burning pain in his right eye. The shock and pain made him stumble to the floor. "I know that's a lie! Asshole! I know you-" Ze took a good look at Jake and realized what she had done, "Huh..."

Jake clutched his right eye, pain and disbelief swirling in his mind. Blood dripped down his face, blurring his vision. The world was a hazy, a dizzy blur. The sound of students gasping and screaming in horror filled the room. Hana and Joshua quickly ran to Jake's side. "Oh my god, Jake!"Hana yelled. "Holy crap, are you okay?!" Joshua yelled, in concern. their words didn't process in Jake's head.

Ze just stood there, frozen in shock and horror. She stared at the scissors in her hand and at Jake's bleeding eye. "I-I..." She mumbled, her voice barely a whisper. The reality of what she had done sank in, and she felt a wave of shame and guilt wash over her. Joshua Went in front of Ze and her clique of friends, Jacy and Emily. Joshua stood before Ze and her friends, Jacy and Emily, his expression hard and cold. "Ze, what the actual FUCK is wrong with you?!" he shouted. Ze looked back at him, still in shock, her hand holding onto the bloody scissors. Jacy and Emily were looking at Ze in disbelief, their eyes wide with shock. Hana was still kneeling next to Jake, trying to help him up from the floor while Evelyn was standing, watching the scene unfold with a mixture of anger and fear.

Jacy stepped forward, her expression a mixture of shock and horror. "Ze... what the hell did you do..."Emily followed close behind, with a mixture of guilt and fear. "Oh my god, this is so messed up..."  Hana's expression was filled with worry, called out for help. "We need some help over here! Someone, please call the nurse!!" The teacher, Hollow Moon, told someone to get the school nurse and the principal.

Ze just stood there, unable to form any response. The scissors remained in her hand, stained with Jake's blood. "What have I done..."
