The Reunion: A Harry Potter Saga

Part 3: What Happened

"Harry, they are here!", Ginny shouted to her husband whom she assumed was nervously pacing in their bathroom.

Harry walked down the hallway, his breathing uneven. Was he sure about this? Dudley had bullied him as a child. Maybe he hadn't changed! But from what Ginny had told him, Dudley had a wife and two girls now. He must be different. I can do this...In front of his door were his children and wife. They waited silently as he walked forward towards the door.

Click. Harry unlocked the door.

There stood Dudley Dursley, his wife, Ella, and their two daughters Lauryn and Alice. Dudley had on a lavender tie, matching his wife's equally purple dress. Lauryn, who was the same age James, and Alice, who was the same age as Lily, were wearing cute frilly white dresses.

"Hi! I'm Ella, Dudley's wife. These are our daughters, Lauryn, she's twelve, and Alice, who's nine. Nice to meet you!" Ella broke the silence with a smiling introduction.

"Yes, hello, I'm Ginny! This here is James, he's also twelve, Albus is eleven, and Lily's nine. Oh, this is perfect! Lily and Alice will become the best of friends!", Ginny responded immediately, pointing at each of her children as she introduced them. "Come on in!"

The Dursley's shuffled inside, and Albus collected their coats. Harry and Dudley just stared at each other as if they were both rainbow hippopotamus's (A/N Hippomotami??). Both families sat around the dinner table and begun eating. There was plenty of food for everyone. Ella and Ginny got along perfectly; they were busy talking about the mysterious robberies that had been happening in the Dursleys neighborhood. The kids were talking about what toys they wanted for Christmas.

"So...Harry, how are you?", Dudley finally broke the wall of silence in between the cousins.

"I'm good. You?"

"Good as well. I've...I've been meaning to ask you...", Dudley stuttered at first, but next leaned across the table and whispered: "What happened with the whole Wizard War thing?"

Dudley quickly pulled back, as if he'd been hit.

"Well, Dudley, seeing as I'm not dead, I'd say it went well enough.", Harry said, his tone slightly sadder. "But a lot of people died for my life, so I wasn't planning on dy..."

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" A girl screamed from upstairs.

"James, where is Lauryn?!?" Harry pressed his son.

"She needed to go to the bathroom...I swear I didn't do anything!"

     Harry, Dudley, Ella, and Ginny raced up the stairs to find Lauryn in the bathroom, still screaming and pointing at something in the corner. It was a Snitch. Harry's favorite, to be exact. Ginny quickly snatched it from the air and went to put it away.

     "Harry, what was that thing!? I think it was trying to kill poor Lauryn...", Ella said worriedly.

     Harry gave Dudley an it's time look and asked Ella and Lauryn and Ella to come downstairs; there was something they needed to know. Dudley sat his wife and kids down on the Potters couch and began the long explanation.

     "Honey, that was not a monster. That was a...a.." Dudley looked to Harry for reference.

     "A Snitch."

     "Yes, that. I'm about to tell you something you must not tell to anyone. Harry and Ginny are wi-" 

     "Secret agents!!! We are secret agents!" Ginny cut off a very surprised looking Dudley. "That Snitch is a prototype for a new defense mechanism me and Harry were assigned to design. Because we're secret agents. But, remember, you must not tell anyone."

Ella seemed delighted. "Oh! How unique! How magnificent! I didn't know you two were so important!"

     "Yes, but our identity is a secret. For all you know, we could have saved the world!" Harry grinned. "Alright, shall we continue dinner then?"

    "Certainly. But where are Alice and Lily?" Dudley asked.

    "Lauryn is right here, where are James and Albus?" Ginny said. 

CRASH

"Oh no." All four adults muttered.

     Besides the fact that the Potter's magical secret was almost revealed and that the missing kids, who had been throwing a ball outside broke the Dursley's expensive car window, both families were glad to've met each other. Dudley and Harry met up multiple times afterwards, and so did their families. Ella and Ginny are best friends and James and Alice, which at first was thought to be an odd pairing because of the age difference, became partners in crime. Albus and Lauryn consider themselves "frenemies", because they like to think they are rivals, but in reality they are as similar as two peas in a pod. The Dursley's did eventually find out about the Potter's magical abilities, but in later years to come.

In the end, everyone lived happily ever after.
