Ooo-la-la! Today I received a letter from Mr. Cristiano, the kind young gentleman I met at Cecilia's ball, and he told me the following,
Cara bella Lady Azra,è stato un piacere incontrarti al ballo di Lady Cecilia l'altra sera. Mi piacerebbe incontrarti alla Fontana di Marmo nel centro della città, diciamo alle 4:00.
Tuo, Cristiano xoxo
Dear fair Lady Azra,
it was a delight meeting you at Lady Cecilia's ball the other evening. I would love to meet you at the Marble Fountain in the town center at say 4:00?
Yours, Cristiano xoxo
"Ah! Wonderful news!" I exclaimed as I tossed the letter in the air. I had to admit- Cristiano was handsome and quite a lad. If I could get married to him, I would be very happy and rich. I decided I will meet him at the town square.
With a flutter of excitement in my heart, I hastily prepared for my rendezvous with Cristiano at the Marble Fountain. I spent extra time choosing the perfect gown and arranging my hair just so, wanting to make a favorable impression on the charming young gentleman.
As the appointed hour drew near, I made my way through the bustling streets of Venice, feeling a mix of anticipation and nervousness. The sun cast a golden glow over the city, adding to the enchantment of the moment.
When I reached the Marble Fountain, Cristiano was already waiting, his smile radiant as he caught sight of me approaching. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of him, his features illuminated by the soft light of late afternoon.
"Lady Azra," Cristiano greeted me with a gallant bow, his voice warm and inviting. "You look absolutely stunning."
"Thank you, Cristiano," I replied, feeling a flush of pleasure at his compliment. "You look quite dashing yourself."
We fell into step together, strolling around the fountain as we engaged in lighthearted conversation. Cristiano proved to be a charming companion, regaling me with tales of his travels and adventures.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets, Cristiano took my hand in his, his touch sending a shiver of excitement down my spine.
"Lady Azra, there is something I must confess," Cristiano said earnestly, his gaze meeting mine with a hint of apprehension.
I held my breath, waiting for his words with bated anticipation.
"I have grown quite fond of you," Cristiano continued, his voice soft yet determined. "And I would be honored if you would consider allowing me to court you."
My heart soared at his declaration, my doubts and uncertainties melting away in the warmth of his affection.
"I would be delighted, Cristiano," I replied, a smile spreading across my lips. "I believe this could be the start of something truly special."
And as we walked together beneath the fading light of day, hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel that fate had smiled upon me, guiding me towards a future filled with love and possibility.
