Chapter 10 - Stages of Motherhood

Okay 1st and only authers note of the story. So far there have been short time jumps like in weeks or months next last two chapter this one and the next one are big time jumps.

It had been four year since I moved to Alaska so let me tell you what happened. I finished high school for the first time and graduated with honours then went o Queens University with Ed and I got and PhD and M.D in medicine. Now we are planning on moving to forks Washington for the start of school so right now I’m 22 yeah I think that all.

--- 2 Weeks and 3 Days---

I ran to the bathroom for the second time this morning everyone else except Carlisle was out hunting but Animal blood didn’t appeal to me and made me gip which was weird, so I decided to see Carlisle or as call him Dad. I knocked on the door to his study and he told me to come in “Iyla want can I help you with” he gives me a comforting smile “okay the way that we are as vampires this is going to sound weird but I’ve been sick like literally throwing up blood” I told him sitting down “okay that doesn’t sound normal is there any pattern to it” he asks “yeah obviously always blood and in the morning for the past three days” He nods

“Follow me” we get up and he takes me next door where all his equipment is “lay down” I instructs me. He begins to do and ultra sound “you don’t think I’m ya know” I asked afraid of the answer “possibly but I’ve never dealt with a vampire pregnancy before” he continues the scan then turns the screen around “the results” there on the screen was a little blob but not any ordinary blob a fetus “wow” was all I could manage. Then I heard the others coming and I protected my thoughts and wiped my tears away.

I went to meet them coming in Alice gave me a wink figures she would know it was a now or never moment “Ed can we go for a walk” he looks at me and nods. We are walking for a good time until we are out of extra hear shot. “I have something to tell you” i stopped and took his hand “your worrying me Iyla” he tells me “oh its nothing bad well I don’t think it’s bad although I’m not sure about you” I ramble I took one hand and put it on my tummy with mine on top and then I put my other hand on his face and let the shield down imagined seeing the ultra sound for the first time.

He breathed in before a smile plastered on his face “I’m going to be a dad?” I nodded and laughed “who else knows” he questioned “just Dad and Alice” I replied he kissed me

--- 3 months ---

I haven’t been drinking properly Animal blood nor food helps I sat on the sofa with everyone around me “I don’t know what else to try” dad looked at us. I had a feeling and stretched for my sketch pad, Edward saw and gave it to me as well as a pencil and I zoned out.

I looked down at the picture it was split in two one was of Alice and Jasper searching and the other was of me drinking. ‘I have an idea. Human blood’ I thought Edwards face dropped even more “no there must be another way” he protested ‘ Edward Anthony Mason Cullen stop being stubborn and tell them’ I scolded he sighed “she thinks she should try human blood” he repeated I saw mostly everyone tense I tapped my pad ‘I’ve seen it’ I told him “she’s seen it” dad nodded and left “Alice” I wheezed she was right by my side I tapped the other side of my pad and she looked at it “what are we searching for?” she questioned “Dairies, England” I breathed ‘tell her that my father kept journals he said that they were contained everything that happened when mum was pregnant with me’ I aimed at Edward and he told them they nodded and went to pack.

--- 4 Months ---

Alice and Jasper returned with two boxes Edward stayed with me making sure I had regular drinks of Human blood “I thought it would be like a normal pregnancy” he stated “maybe something’s different” I was slowly getting better I could speak properly.

Everyone came in “we found something” Alice told us some sat down “your mum sort of had the same thing with you. But what’s interesting is that in the 20th generation Georgiana Bennett had a daughter called Katharine she was a Damphir half Vampire and Half human. When Georgiana was pregnant with Katharine she had to have blood to survive and for Katharine to as well” Alice Started “we think the same might be happening again” Dad finished “so let me get this straight I’m having a hybrid which has happened before” they nodded “but that’s the only difference she will grow and act like a human but will be able to survive on either blood or food.”Alice chirped.

--- 9 Months ---

I was full term and waiting to give birth just a matter of time Edward was fawning over me which was getting really annoying thank god Vampires didn’t need the loo any move I make Edward tries to help at first I thought it was sweet but now it’s just annoying . “you okay” he asked as i shuffled “Cullen zip it” i huffed then i felt a twinge “ouch” i shouted Alice came bounding in “oh my god its time she looked at me then i looked at Edward “Emmett” he shouted Em appeared “carry Ilya now” he nodded and picked me up.

Seen as it wasn’t a normal situation everything was accelerated within two hours i had a little girl. I sat in bed “I think I have a first name” Edward tells me bouncing our little girl up and down “what is it” I smiled “Aoife” (pronounced Ee-fa) “that’s beautiful Aoife May Cullen” I declared.

---5 days after---

We played with little Aoife who was absolutely cute everyone adored her and Alice went crazy shopping nicking each of our credit cards.

We sat in the living room I was feeding Aoife some milk (which she was on now) “I love you. Both of you” Ed kissed me then kissed our daughters head. This was my family nothing else would be quite like it. Dad came in and looked at us “how is she doing” he asked us “perfectly” we told him

“I’m home” Alice sings me and Ed looked at each other. Alice came in brimming with bags “Pixie please tell us that is not all for our daughter” I pleaded she shook her head “this one is for me” she said lifting up her last back I shook my head. “What she’s my niece I’m aloud to spoil her” she pouted. I looked down Aoife was asleep I was upstairs and put her in the crib then switched the baby monitor on.

Back downstairs everyone was discussing something “she went down well” I told Ed he nodded “what’s going on?” I asked “where moving our times up people is going to get suspicious” Edward wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on my shoulder “okay. Ready for another school big brother” I smirked at Emmett he laughed “oh you bet little sis” he fist pumped me.

Aoife started crying and we went upstairs “Bring her to our room” I nodded and went to get her. “Hey what’s wrong” I cooed then picked her up and took her to our room. Edward was playing the piano. He started playing our favourite lullaby and she fell right back asleep.
