Chapter 1 - Day One

The first day of a new job was no joke, especially in an industry as big as K-pop. So when Kim Nari was offered a position at JYP Entertainment, she made sure to set at least five alarms and wake up extra early. However, this didn't stop the girl from oversleeping. She had woken up with half an hour to spare, thankful that she had gotten all her equipment and clothes ready the night before. She may not be good at time management but at least she was good at organisation.

She had made it to work only one minute late, her boss stood in the meeting room having already begun. "Miss Kim... nice of you to join us.." the man spoke, before continuing on with his words. That was the problem, in such a competitive industry even being on time was considered late, so that one minute was already going to be against her.

The meeting was about this group getting ready for a comeback. The colour palette had already been decided, which meant the stylists would have to work around this idea to bring the companies vision to life. Luckily for Nari, she the outfit department wasn't her job. Her expertise was in hair and make up, which was pretty straightforward as long as the artists still looked good.

Once the meeting was over she stood up and found her way to the studio where she could start the members hair. Apparently this time around most the members needed their hair dying. Felix blonde, Chan blue, Hyunjin red, LeeKnow purple... Nari shook her head to herself, knowing it was going to be a long day standing on her feet.

She found her way to the salon within the building, starting to set up everything she needed. She was lucky that the company gave her a small budget for the top products, waiting for the first person to arrive.

Of course, StrayKids being StrayKids couldn't come by themselves. The first to walk in were Chan, LeeKnow and Han, which caused a confused expression to come across Nari's face. She carefully bowed to the three men out of respect. "Hi-... my name is Kim Nari, your new hair stylist" she introduced herself, offering a polite smile.

They were all incredibly good looking, she had done some research beforehand but it couldn't prepare you for the real thing. "And make up artist, right? Thanks to JYP's budget cuts" Chan spoke, seeming somewhat irritated by the inconvenience. Despite his obvious dislike to JYP being cheap, he seemed genuinely sweet. "I'm Chan, this is Han and Leeknow"

The other men just seemed to wave, in which Nari bowed again. "Nice to meet you... I'm sorry but I don't have Han scheduled.. I was informed he'd be keeping his natural colour?" Nari gave an awkward smile, not wanting to seem rude.

"I'm just here to keep them company, Leeknow Hyung gets grumpy when he's bored.." Han teased, taking a seat in one of the chairs before spinning himself around in a circle. "That's not true-" Leeknow jumped to defend himself, causing Chan to chuckle.

Nari tried to get their hair done as fast as possible, which seemed rather difficult. Leeknow kept moving his head to play the game on his phone, and Chan really liked to talk. Nari didn't mind much, it made her first day far easier. She was going to be spending a lot of time with the boys so it was nice that they took the time to really speak to her. Some other idols really had a superiority complex.

Once she was all done she waved the boys off, before turning to sweep the floor and clean the area before the next boys came. Changbin and Felix walked in next, in which Nari bowed and introduced herself again. "Hyunjin is running late, so he asked if we could swap appointments if that's all good with you?" Felix asked, an apologetic smile on his face. It wasn't like Nari could say no, it just meant she'd have to stay a little late but that was okay.

"Thats great... actually. I can do Changbins bleach, then your bleach, then-..." her words trailed off when she released both boys were looking at her completely blank. Her cheeks started to flush as she shook her head, which Felix found rather cute. "Will it take long? I'm hungry, Leeknow had us in the studio all day even when he was getting his hair done." Changbin sat in one of the chairs, causing Nari to laugh a little.
