Chapter 8 - Suspicions

The show in New York had gone great, and the fan meet even better. They had already performed in Atlanta, Georgia and Texas, and were currently in Los Angeles. It had only been 10 days. Everyone seemed to be exhausted from the travel, and the media hadn't let go about the airport incident in New York.

The fan base seemed divided, a large majority defending the staff but a loud minority were still throwing hate. Nari was just thankful that she had insisted on wearing her mask when going through the busier areas. It had also caused some scandals, not just about Hyunjin guarding her but also with Leeknow helping her off the floor. It was seen as gentlemanly but also made room for dating rumours.

It hadn't directly affected anyone yet, so everyone seemed to forget about it. The members knew the truth and that's all that mattered. Now that Hyunjin and Nari were official, nothing had changed. They still snuck around the same way they used too, sneaking back and forth to each other's rooms in the evenings.

It was the last concert for America, and they were supposed to go straight to the airport after to travel to Paris. Nari had never really gotten used to the jet lag, sat on the chair in the dressing room with her head on the table. She had been running around for days. One of the staff members had to leave early, meaning Na-eun, Mina and Nari had to pick up the extra work.

Nari hadn't even noticed the concert finishing until she felt someone rubbing her head. She opened her eyes, looking up at a sweaty Hyunjin. "All done? Already-?" She asked, sitting up slightly.

Hyunjin smiled, finding her confusion to be cute. He noticed she slept a lot, putting it down to the fact she did need a break from taking care of her mother. "Yes... next stop is Paris." He smiled, wiping a towel across his forehead. "I'm going to change and then it's straight to the airport." He nodded, turning away.

Nari looked over at Na-eun who was staring. That girl got more and more suspicious as the days went by, Nari found it amusing. "You know Paris has some really great nightlife... we should go out! If we make it a work outing we can put it on the expense account.." Na-eun spoke, grabbing her bags. Nari just laughed at her friend, following her out to cars.

The flight to Paris was quite long, and to no one's surprise Hyunjin sat next to Nari so they could talk. From the other staffs perspective it really wasn't that weird, they were all incredibly friendly. The issue was the fans.

"I want to take you out, for dinner by the Eiffel Tower." Hyunjin spoke, looking over at his girlfriend. He knew how stupid it sounded, it was a terrible idea. The Eiffel Tower was a tourist hot spot.

"Hyunjin, that sounds lovely.. but I don't think that's a good idea right now. The media are still crazy about the airport situation." Nari shrugged slightly, looking back at him. He looked a little down about it all, which was understandable. "You deserve a real date, Nari." He leant back in his chair.

Nari just smiled at him, moving her hand to his for a moment before letting go. "Get some rest, it's a long flight and we have to go straight to a fan meet." She disregarded the conversation now, they could figure out a date when they get back to Korea. For right now, everyone needed as much sleep as possible on the plane.

When Nari woke up, Hyunjin had tilted his head against her shoulder. She didn't know when, but he must have moved the armrest up to be closer to her. It was flattering really, but how would she explain it if the manager walked by? Thankfully they were just about to land, so despite her better judgement she woke the sleeping boy.

Getting through the airport was far easier than New York, JYP had switched the flight schedule so they could avoid fans and paparazzi. It was easy enough, and fans at the venues were far more respectful than the airport.
