To say the least, the rest of that evening had Albedo mentally drained. Halfway through their walk home, he even called his driver to pick both Klee and him up, which resulted in a very sad Klee having to separate from her friend, Qiqi.
Today was just as boring as any other day and Albedo made sure to steer clear of Y/n, avoiding them at all costs, internally cringing at the mere thought of hearing another one of their jokes. On top of that, today was a day he needed absolutely no distractions, the yearly science Olympiads had rolled around, offering a scholarship as this year's prize and a 10,000 cheque. Today was the day participants were being recruited. It was a group competition. Four participants from each school within the Inazuma, Fontaine, Sumeru, and Mondstadt district would be selected. Each group had to display cooperation, honesty, and fairness. Each participant would be rewarded separately.Albedo, a boy who was always quiet and reserved, but no one could beat him when it came to academics. He'd be getting 100% in all of his classes left and right - teachers loved to have him as a student, always diligent and hardworking. Said traits helped him land the position of the school's vice president of the student council. Not just to mention academics, but his looks as well. Albedo was nicknamed the "prince" of the school, for his fairy-tale like appearance and how he had girls and boys fawning over him left and right.
He strolled down the halls before turning and knocking on the door labeled as "Principal's office." From the other side, a cheery voice, yet one that held tones of authority, responded, "Come in!"
Twisting the Doorknob Albedo entered as the Principal, Alice, greeted him with her charming smile, her long blonde hair and red eyes shining as she greeted her nephew.
"Albedo!"
"Good morning, Miss Alice,"."Oh please! Cut the formalities and come give your aunt a hug!"
Despite seeing him almost every other day, Alice opened her arms and engulfed Albedo in a tight hug - the said boy grumbling as he tried to pry away from the hug.
"Oh, don't be like that!" Alice grinned before fixing her composure and sitting back down in her office chair, not before guiding Albedo to sit in the chair positioned in front of her desk."Now, what's brought you here today, hm? Oh my... was the Albedo sent to the principals office for misbehaving?" She teased, watching his face shift to an unamused expression as he pushed up his glasses.
"I'm here to sign up for the science Olympiad." he looked at her expectantly, waiting for her to hand over the sign up sheet before he noticed a slight change in her demeanor.
"Is something the matter?" Albedo inquired, now confused as to what the problem was, watching his aunt's face twist into a frown and a nervous smile as she began to speak."Well... there's just one problem.." She began before Albedo cut her off.
"What is it? I can assure ice done nothing wrong, and I have every qualification needed to participate." Alice waved a dismissive hand before continuing.
"Yes, it's true. You are qualified in every aspect except for one.." She paused, watching his face contort into one of surprise, confusion written all over his expression. Before he could speak, she cut him off.
