~ Chapter Start ~
Minji POV
The remnants of memory from the unfortunate happenings still creeps me out, giving me shivers sometimes and making me restless from my surroundings. Now sitting beside the bed of Y/n where tubes of medical stuffs are connected to him for his recovery.
As the medical machine beeps in a repetitive manner, the amount of worry in me increases. Time goes by so fast that it's easy to lose track of it. I arrived here with the sun nowhere to be seen but now, the sun is shining beautifully again, showcasing its celestial body.
Yawning, I stretched my body and the feeling of satisfaction was achieved. Just then, my attention was diverted at the door of the room. Murmurs were starting to get loud and then the very door opened, revealing my mom and dad whose faces showed worry.
Immediately, they ran to me and hugged me so tightly that it's like they don't even wanna let go of me. The feeling of comfort was met once again and this time, the trauma of the past was forgotten for a little bit, giving me the full experience of their parental love.
“Minji! Are you okay?! My baby,” My mom said while cupping my cheeks, giving me a reason to smile.
“Oh my, once I received that call from Danielle, my heart sank,” My dad said and hugged us.
Silence fell afterwards with only the sound of our breathing and machine beeping being heard, as the peacefulness began to settle, an alarm from Y/n's vitals was heard.
I shimmied out of the hug and pushed the button for the doctors. Not even a minute has passed, doctors rushed in and checked Y/n's condition.
The doctors worked fastly, trying to understand the cause for the alarm and then, a miracle happened. Y/n moved his index finger.
The doctors explained to me that upon arriving here, Y/n was in a state of coma and was minutes away from death. Surprising me and my parents. Now the cause for alarm is him fighting to move, which means the spike is because of his determination to heal.
I walked beside Y/n's bed, his unconscious body that he used to protect me from harm, not even minding the consequences. The fact that he's fighting for his life now puts me in a deeper state of guilt.
“Who is he Minji?” My mom asked as she put her arm around me.
“Y/n. Cho Y/n. The one who saved me,” I said, blaming myself on what happened to him.
“Wait, why is he in the scene? I don't remember you mentioning a Y/n to us,” My father questioned which is fair, I didn't tell them about Y/n yet. Facing my parents, I breathed deeply before answering.
“I hired him to be my temporary manager since Danielle will file for a leave for her vacation,” I said and looking at their faces, this wasn't received well by them.
