the sunshine gets grumpy!
IT WAS NORMAL TO SEE ANDY GET GRUMPY a lot, so it was a bit of a surprise when he saw Julie angry. "Are you okay, Julie?" he asked, snapping the girl out of a trance. "I'm fine, Andy."
"You don't look fine. You can tell me what's on your mind if you want." Julie sighed as Andy noticed that she had a gap in between her teeth. Was it always there? He found it kind of cute, actually. Wait, did he just think she was cute?
"It's just... I'm really mad at my band right now. They ghosted me, literally. I don't think I'm going to play with them anymore."
"I'm sure they'll come around. And if they don't, I'll talk to them." Julie looked at him with a smile, "How will you talk to them? You can't see them."
"But you can. You're the expert after all."
"Okay, that made me feel a bit better. But I've got to head to dance class."
"Bye, Molina."
"That's never going to get old, is it?" Andy placed a hand on her shoulder, "You know me so well."
"Okay, that was sarcasm. But I really need to go, Ramirez."
"I'll see you at lunch?"
"See you at lunch." As Julie turned on her heel, Andy felt a smile form on his lips. "You're quite the flirt, aren't you?" The brunette boy rolled his eyes, turning to face his friend. "I'm not flirting with her, Paula. Besides, we're just friends."
"Sure because friends definitely flirt with each other like that. Also you're smiling."
"I am not smiling."
"She definitely has an effect on you, dude. Anyways, we have Calculus to go to. Let's go." Paula grabbed his arm, leading him down the hallway.
LUNCH HAD FINALLY STARTED as Andy and Paula sat at their table as usual. Flynn and Julie sat down, waving at the duo. "Hey, guys. So how was class?" Flynn said as she ate her lunch. "Me and Andy had Calculus. My brain hurts from all those numbers."
"That's because you kept sleeping during class. I had to wake you up every single time."
"Well, it's not my fault our teacher is so boring. But how was class for you guys?"
"Me and Julie had dance class. She got to dance with Nick." Paula's jaw dropped, staring at the girl. "Nick? Aren't him and Carrie still together?"
"No. They broke up, actually. He told me during dance practice."
"That means she has a chance with him." Flynn stated, causing Andy to furrow his eyebrows. "Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, Carrie already doesn't like her and I think that'll make her not like Julie even more if she gets with Nick."
"Somebody's jealous." Paula muttered, causing Andy to look at her. "I'm not! I'm just saying."
"Nick's a sweet guy. I think I'll give him a shot." Flynn smiled, "That's my Julie! Okay, so here's how you should approach him..." As Flynn talked to Julie, Andy turned to Paula. "Why do you think I'm jealous? I'm not jealous." he whispered in her ear.
"You don't think Julie should date Nick because you like her."
"Paula, for the last time, we're just friends. I just don't want Julie to get hurt."
"Sure, dude." The bell rang in the cafeteria, signaling for the students to get to class.
School was finally over as Andy walked with Julie. "Hey, about earlier, I just want to apologize. I didn't mean to offend you or anything."
"It's okay, Andy. You were just trying to look out for me, that's all."
"I can talk to him for you if you want. I don't really know him that well but if you like him that much, I'll help you."
"Really? You'll do that for me?"
"Yes. I - I mean, only if you want me t-" Julie pulled him into a hug, causing the boy to stop talking. "I do. Also thank you for everything you've done for me, it's been nice getting to know you for these past few weeks." Andy could've sworn his stomach did a flip when she said that. "It was nice getting to know you, too." he stated as she stopped hugging him.
Andy was definitely starting to feel something for Julie. He just didn't know what exactly.
