Natsu was never all that smart, he knew enough to get by and it was fine with him. He never had a need to research, but three months ago that all changed.
Every Night, that day when he was pulled through that door was ever repeating inside his mind. He dreamed it every night, always waking him up in a cold sweat.
The symbols he saw had been traced from his mind and onto the paper of many notebooks scattered across his room, traced into his skin when his mind had snapped, and burned into the back of his mind.
The first month was hard, Natsu had been homeless and distraught. The world he had known for years was gone, the people he's loved and cared for most were gone as well. Life as he knew it had come to an end.
But Natsu was never one to quit, not ever. After a few weeks he pulled himself together, got a job, found a small apartment, and started researching on these strange symbols.
It took a week before he found anything, but what he found only confused him even more. Alchemy, in his world it was a dead art. But in this world it was like a life line like how magic was in his world.
He spent night reading and taking notes, but even after three months he still couldn't understand a thing.
"Natsu!"
Natsu jolted and quickly turned to look at his boss, his grip tightening on the box of scrap metal. "Y-Yes?" He shifted uncomfortably, his now long bangs hiding most of eyes and his scarf hiding the rest of his face.
His boss laughed and crossed his arms. "Man Natsu! You gotta sleep kid, you look like shit. But hey, I want you to deliver some parts up to Garfield's and then you can take the rest of the day off."
"You don't have to-"
"Let be nice before I change my mind kid!" He chuckled and took the box of metal away from Natsu and handed him a box full of new screws and new other parts.
Natsu smiled and pushed away his bangs. "Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow morning I guess."
His boss smiled and ushered him out, giving him the directions to the shop before kicking him out.
Natsu made his way into the busy streets of RushValley, squinting at the bright sunlight as he made his way through the crowed. As he walked he could pick up gossip about the commotion that occurred earlier.
Natsu wasn't all that surprised he didn't hear it, when the Truth took his magic. It took his dragon side as well. He felt empty without it, he would do anything to get his magic back. Even if it was just for a sort while.

Garfield's was a near the edge of the town and Natsu was a almost reluctant to go inside. People were yelling back and forth inside, more like a girl was threatening the lives of a boy if he ever dared to brake her automail again. The sounds of pain that came not long after reminded him of home.
He shook the thoughts out of his head and slowly nodded on the side of the building, smiling the best he could. "I have your parts..."
Winry looked up and set down her wrench, her look of murder turning into a smile. "Good! Thank you so much- I don't think I know your name,"
"It's Natsu Dragoneel," Her contagious smile only made him smile back.
"Well it's nice to meet you Natsu," Winry took the box from Natus's hands, waving as he turned to leave.
Natsu was glad to finally get away, too many people. All he wanted-
"Those scars on your arm, you've seen the Truth haven't you?"
Natsu froze and turned and started at the blond haired boy that had been staring at him since he arrived. No answer came from Natsu, the look in the kid's eyes was hard and too grown for his age.
So what he did next was something Natsu Dragoneel of Fairy Tail would never normally do, but since he had no magic there was nothing else he could think of. So he took a step back and ran the fuck away.

Is it ready?
It's not even close...
We don't have much time...they don't have much time...
Don't worry, it will be completed before they arrive. But there is one thing stoping us...
It's the demon, isn't it?
Yes...and no...he doesn't notice yet, but when he does we won't have another opening.
Then we'll worry about him last, we still have the young boy to look after.
If you mean by babysitting, we're doing an awful job!
He has to work things out on his own, he's useless to us the way he is now. He needs to be willing to fight, he needs to be willing to kill.
All of them struggle to kill...
They will learn-
I just don't think they were the right pick out of all the Heroes we could have chosen. The dragon slayer even lost his power! He'll get it back...but a sacrifice, must be made

This took a lot longer than I wanted it too, but the next update won't take as long
