PART 25 :: MARAVALU

Day 3 at Surya's Home : 06:00 AM

After Sowriya was completely sure that Surya has left the room, She came out of the balcony, into the room.

"Oof!! I definitely had to make some lifestyle changes.. I should start wearing my dupatta all the time from now on.. Its not because he was ogling or something, he shifted his gaze away immediately though.. I just have to dress decently.."  thought Sowriya

After that, Sowriya showered and wore the new chudidhar she bought and went downstairs to the kitchen.

"Hey, Good Morning!!" greeted Kathyayini

 "Good Morning athaiya" 

"What happened? you need anything? you woke up early.." asked Jaya

"No, I don't want anything.. I just wanted to help.." Sowriya replied shyly

"Oh dear, look into the kitchen, there are enough people to do all the chores. Why did you wake up so early? You could have taken some rest and come down around 7:30 or something" said Jaya

"Ah.. its.. its ok athaiya.. " she answered not knowing if they were saying that for real or making fun of her.

"Feel free around here ma.. we are not villain athaiyas" joked Sasi joining the conversation.

Sowriya smiled awkwardly..

"Hey, leave my kodalu(daughter-in-law) alone!! Don't make fun of her!!" joined Rukmani and grabbed Sowriya to her side.

Sowriya let out a heartful chuckle.

Everyone in the house wanted her to be happy and not feel alone knowing the circumstance that her marriage had happened thinking that she knew about Rajesh's elope and decided to not bring the topic of the marriage anytime now.

Sowriya helped in making breakfast and learned few new dishes and new techniques. She learned how things work in that kitchen and where they keep different ingredients and utensils. She was very interested in knowing new things and was fascinated by the fact that though her family and here speak the same language and follow the same traditions, the food and the way of preparing it is very different from what she has seen from her side of family. 

When it was around 7:30 almost all the dishes were made. Sowriya started to feel sleepy again as everything in the kitchen was silent again. Sasi took a tray of tea filled cups and went to wake the others up and Jaya took different beverages like coffee, health mix, coco milk and went to wake up the kids. Rukmani was making punugulu(a snack eaten with breakfast) and Kathyayini was enjoying her tea. Sowriya was leaning on the slab beside the fridge and watching them.  

"Oh God! these kids!! We left them to cut schools and colleges for one day and now they need another day break! Even the Bride is standing here and helping us but they need rest it seems!!" complained Jaya.

"Ponille ve!(let them go). Its just one day right?" said Rukmani

"Don't suppo-" Jaya was saying something but Sowriya slowly drifted back to sleep by leaning on the fridge.

Surya's pov

Today is a very refreshing day. It felt like everything was relaxing and there was no rush. I had a good run and returned home feeling refreshed. When I entered home, I saw Thathaiya sitting on his e-chair and reading newspaper.

I think Ms.GD hasn't come down yet. There is going to be another big show today. Doesn't she care about her family's reputation? For others attention, she will do anything I guess. Even staking her parent's upbringing. Why do I care? It's her responsibility. Not mine.
