Hey Thanu1500

This chapter is dedicated to you! Apologies for the delay, my friend 😅. Thanks a bunch for the constant motivation and support! It really means the world to me.

Now, let's dive into the good stuff, shall we? 📚✨

Meera pov:

A rush of excitement bubbled inside me—we'd won the third round! All those late-night trivia marathons and prep had actually paid off. But even in that high, there was a nervous knot in my stomach.

I wanted to tell Amma about Adrian. Especially with tomorrow's surprise date... I just couldn't keep it from her anymore.

I peeked into the living room. Amma was buried in student papers, glasses low on her nose, her forehead creased. Appa was already asleep—thank god for that.

I walked over slowly. "Amma?"

She looked up immediately, her face softening. "Meera, darling! Did you eat?"

"Yeah, Amma, I did." I hesitated. Just as I was about to open up, she jumped in, "Oh and listen! Your uncle's family is coming next week. From Malaysia!"

My heart did a happy somersault. Uncle Nimal was Appa's older brother—a total sweetheart, and Aunty Latha was the warmest soul on Earth. And my cousins... Darshan and Thanu. Ugh, my heart.

Darshan was like this loud, overprotective, slightly cracked older brother. And Thanu Shiri? My soul twin. We'd grown up like second skin. She already knew everything about Adrian—thanks to that chaotic 1AM video call last month where I'd blurted out every single detail.

The excitement almost made me forget what I was supposed to say. Almost.

I took a deep breath. Time to jump. "Amma... I need to tell you something."

She blinked, setting the papers aside. My stomach did that annoying backflip again.

"I... me and Adrian... we love each other."

Boom. Said it.

For a moment, she just looked at me. No reaction. Blank expression. And I swear my heart stopped.

"He's a good guy, Amma," I rushed out. "He cares so much—for me, for our family. He even helped save Naveen from that awful boxing club. He's been nothing but respectful. I just... I needed you to know."

Her eyes narrowed slightly, then softened. "So... my suspicions were right."

I blinked. "Huh?"

She smiled. "Don't underestimate a mother's instincts. I saw how you two looked at each other at dinner. Thought I didn't notice?"

My cheeks flushed like fire. Damn.

She reached over and held my hand. "I trust you, Meera. I met your Appa in college too, remember? But love also comes with responsibility. Don't lose yourself in it."

"I won't," I said quietly. "He knows how important studies are for me."

She nodded, her smile gentle. We spoke a bit more—me just pouring out everything. She listened with that quiet, wise way only Amma could. Teased me a little, gave me advice, but not once did she make me feel guilty. That's Amma for you.

Right as I was about to ask if we should tell Appa together, she stopped me with that knowing Amma-look.

"Tell your Appa after you finish your course. It'll give you something to look forward to." Then she smirked. "And tell Adrian to be ready. Your father's 'interview' won't be easy."
