.......Dazai had never expected it.
Dazai stood in front of an orange fox lying on the grubby forest's ground. It looked to be bleeding out from its stomach; senseless. The little creature was in no condition to awaken from its unconsciousness anytime soon either.
But all Dazai wants to know is how the hell did it end up like that...?
Dazai took out his magic staff and slightly prod the fox with it, keeping his distance all the while. After a bit of prodding it, it made no movement so Dazai took that as an advantage to get slightly closer.
Dazai was, though, still a little wary. Foxes in the magic forest are usually very skittish and intemperate. Their kind are constantly killed by mortals. And since there is not many left, they're very overprotective of their kind.
Although in this moment, Dazai felt a little sympathy for the fox...despite being vicious and uncaring towards humans, it didn't deserve whatever happened to it.
Dazai's body moved forward on its own to approach the fallen fox and kneel down in front of it. He pressed both of his two index and middle fingers to the fox's neck and checked for a pulse. Luckily, it was still alive. Dazai pulled back and just blankly gazed at the fox with a poker face.
After some awkward, silent moments Dazai very cautiously places his hands under the fox and picks it up into his arms. It felt...soft. He felt himself become a little distracted by the softness of its fur..
