Slaying Gods: The Blade Dancer

             In the year 20XX, the earth has been overrun by gigantic monsters known as Aragamis. Their ferocity is like that of a raging god and their appetite is as endless as the abyss. These monsters devour and consume anything and everything and in most cases, take on the characteristics of what they consume. These monsters evolve at a rapid pace, so much as to boggle the very minds of scientists. The Aragamis have pushed back humanity into near extinction and forced them to live inside large walled fortresses created by the Fenrir Corporation, a multinational company that was once a weapons manufacturing company. Now, they have pledged to be the last line of defense of humanity against the Aragami with weapons and defenses they created from the same material that makes these monstrosities; Oracle cells.

               Oracle cells are biological organisms said to have originated from outer space. These cells are what comprise the Aragami. In short, Aragamis are but a colony of these oracle cells. Conventional weapons are useless against these Aragamis for the materials will only be consumed by the Aragamis’ oracle cells and regenerates whatever wounds these creatures get. The Fenrir Corporation, however, has extracted these cells from the bodies of dead Aragamis and successfully manufactured biological weapons that effectively tear apart the bonds between oracle cells in the Aragami, thus preventing their regeneration process. This weapon is known as the God Arc and this weapon has become the last light of hope for humanity. Humans injected with the same oracle cells as the God Arcs rose up in arms to protect the human race. They were known as God Eaters.

                   Angry roars echoed in the ruined city of what was once Tokyo City, a few miles away from the Fenrir Far East Branch. The buildings were all destroyed, as if smothered by the gods themselves. Within its desolate streets, a group of God Eaters were struggling to fend off a large Aragami, roughly the size of two cargo trucks. It had a crimson mane and pitch black fur. Its face resembled that of a feral god with large saber-tooth fangs. Its body emitted strong electromagnetic waves that could decimate anything into dust. “Keep a look out for its electrifying pounce, everyone!”, one of the God Eaters ordered. It was the veteran leader of the group of three, Soma Von Schicksal who wielded a large God Arc with a blade that had serrated edges, similar to that of a chainsaw. “You got it, sir! Now, let’s get this Vajra down!”, replied one of the other members as he stepped back to a better location and began firing flame rounds at the Aragami with his long-ranged assault type God Arc. His name was Kota Fujiki, one of the veteran scouts of the Fenrir Military Division. The Aragami roared angrily from the shower of bullets that Kota fired at it and angrily returned his bullets with a thunder ball. “Kota, watch out!”, screamed Alisa Amiella, one of the veteran snipers of the Fenrir Far East Branch as well as one of the new type God Eaters who could easily switch out from ranged combat to melee combat. Alisa quickly went in front of Kota and released her God Arcs shield to deflect the thunder ball that was supposedly aimed at Kota. “Man, you saved me there, Alisa. Thanks.”, Kota smiled as he ran to another area and continued raining bullets at the Aragami known as Vajra.

             Just as the group struggled to defeat the Vajra, another Aragami came into the scene but this one was never seen before. It had the same body as the Vajra but had white fur and a crimson crystalline mane and it was also slightly larger than the Vajra. It had larger claws, meaning that it was much stronger. Its face resembled that of a wolf with crimson eyes and a mouth that had a red aura emanating from it. The Vajra then stepped back behind the stranger Aragami and roared. The God Eaters froze in their places as they gazed upon the unidentified monster. The Aragami suddenly gave off a strong howl that struck fear into the hearts of whoever heard it. The Vajra roared with the stranger Aragami as a bright red aura wrapped the Vajra. “Tch…This is bad, guys.”, Soma muttered as he slowly stepped back. “S-Soma…We have to run. This is a dire situation. We don’t know how this thing moves. We might get killed.”, Alisa whimpered. She was terrified as the stranger Aragami howled. “Alisa’s right, Soma. We can’t risk our lives for this fight. We’ll have to tell the commander about this.”, Kota added, starting to step back as well. Soma agreed to this without a second thought. “Alright guys, retreat for now!”, he exclaimed in a commanding tone. They quickly ran away from the two Aragami but they found themselves being chased. Just as they were about to get caught by the two Aragami, Soma threw a flash bomb that stunned the Aragami momentarily. This was enough for the three God Eaters to make their escape.
