In the two-eyed tunnel

The entity that lived in the basements of the temple slipped through the network of tunnels he knew so well into the guardian's dormitory. Upstairs, it could feel nothing but silence. It seemed that the other entity had disappeared, but after feeling its presence and the fear it had experienced, that lack of location of this being anywhere in that place he knew so well, worried it even more.Deep down, the creature in the cellars was more playful than anything else, though its territorial impulse impelled it to act as we have seen: if it didn't know you, it was best not to invade what it considered to be its domain. But its intention was not to harme annyone, only to defend what had been its home since the beginning of the Second Epoch. It came to a tunnel where the road forked and felt the same terror as before. The feeling was so strong that he understood the nervousness of the human assailants not being sure what they had to face. In the tunnel on the left side, a dim light began to make itself felt. The entity knew that this light had never been there: that tunnel was dark even when the suns shone in a hot summer because little light reached that depth.Although it couldn't see the colors, I could feel the difference between one and the other, and the yellowish to greenish color gave a special stench to that light. If for a human, that light had to be unpleasant, for the entity it was clear what it meant: cruelty, malignancy, something really unpleasant.Quickly and silently it got up and hid in a small opening in the ceiling that opened onto a very small room but in which the air currents did not lower the temperature as much as in other areas, and he waited, enjoying the sensation of having turned a corner on what was surely going to come out of that tunnel. He had to wait a really short time: he began to perceive a rhythmic and hypnotic noise, which erased any pleasant sensation and his fear increased. If he had been a human being, he knew he would have held his breath. In his case, it stuck itself to the top of the tiny room, although the mere more generalized contact with the wall only made the perception of the approaching being much sharper and therefore terrifying."Oh gods, phew, I must be really frightened to summon that gang", it thought: "or rather, what should I do? I'd heard they helped sometime". But the rhythmic noise was getting closer and closer, and the being had to be near the end of the tunnel. The light was also becoming clearer and sharper, but the colors remained the same, so the situation had changed little. That awkward suspense was over in a very short time, much less than he would have liked -the longer it had taken the better-, and he only thought that, thank you that he had no heart, because if he hadn't had a problem: the sight of what had just come out of the tunnel, it would have caused him a heart attack... In fact, from fear, he almost reveals his position: this being was corporeal but there was something profoundly evil about him and it was that, much more than his monstrous appearance, that produced in him that terror that prevented him from thinking clearly.
