(TW: Slight Violence & Slight Blood)
Brooklyn, New York
Millions of different sounds were echoing through the city while dozens of people were walking up and down the streets wearing multiple layers to keep themselves warm from the freezing temperatures. There was still a lot of traffic on all of the streets but it wasn't as heavy as it was in the morning and the lunch rush has also finished, so people were driving at a normal pace without yelling curse words at each other.
Loud voices and other noises were bouncing off the walls of the station as news reporters, investigative reporters and journalists were all sitting down, waiting inside a room where the press conference will be held in. A few patrol officers were standing on the sides of the room to make sure everyone was being on their best behavior while the Mayor of the city, Commissioner Andrews and the detectives on the case were barely making their way to the room since they had a quick meeting to go over a few things.
News channel cameras were already set up in the back of the room and a couple of photographers were standing alongside them, testing out their cameras to make sure they're working correctly. Some of the investigative reporters and journalists were going over the questions they wanted to ask the Mayor and Commissioner Andrews while the news reporters were double checking their microphones were working and they could hear the news station from their earpieces.
There were five rows of chairs placed in the center of the room and Jungeun was sitting in the front row with her legs crossed, scrolling through her emails on her phone with her notepad in her lap. Her bag and jacket were hanging on the back of the chair as her hair was sitting in a neat ponytail after having it down for most of the day and she had put on some light makeup to look presentable for the conference since it's going to be live on every news channel.
A soft sigh escaped the reporter's lips and she leaned back in her chair before looking up from her phone when everyone began lowering their voices as the Mayor, Comissioner Andrews and all of the detectives entered the room. Her phone gets shoved into her bag and she sat up in her chair, uncrossing her legs to be able to stand up quicker when she wants to ask a question, before placing her attention on the Commissioner with her notepad and special pen in her hands.
Commissioner Andrews, wearing his uniform, stepped up to the podium and the entire room went silent as the news cameras began rolling "Good afternoon, Mayor Adams and I have decided to have this press conference to reassure everyone and answer any questions you may have. I understand everyone's been on edge with the recent murders and I am here to tell you our detectives are doing the best they can in apprehending the man responsible for this" A couple of flashes hit his face from the photographers taking pictures in the back "There's no need to panic, Mayor Adams has requested to input a curfew to keep everyone safe, but we're not going to do that. I've placed more uniformed officers on the streets and I would require everyone to stay indoors late at night. Our detectives are doing everything they can to find the man and arrest him and get justice to the victims. I will answer any questions you have once Mayor Adams is done talking" He finished speaking and stepped to the side for the Mayor to come up to the podium.
Mayor James Adams, wearing a black suit with a red and blue tie, went up to the podium and set his hands on it "Good afternoon, citizens of Brooklyn. I understand everyone is worried and afraid of the man who's been going around our city murdering innocent people. I did request to put in a curfew, but I was panicking too early and there's no need to invoke one. I have very good faith in the detectives behind him they'll be able to apprehend the man before he could hurt anymore people. Commissoner Andrews and I have spoken about how we can keep everyone safe and we will be inputting those measures by the end of the day. I know everyone has some questions, so Commissioner Andrews and I will do our best in answering them now" He said and all of the reporters immediately shot up from their chairs to ask him questions.
