It was 9:45 am. Gemma woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. She went downstairs and made breakfast for her and Leon. Chocolate chip pancakes with a side of raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, with a small dollop of whipped cream on top. She went upstairs to wake up Leon, as he always has a lay in when he's not working. They both sat at the island in their massive, cottage styled, cozy kitchen and ate their breakfast. Afterwards, Gemma went upstairs to get ready for the day. She put on a pair of joggers and a t-shirt and threw her hair up in a messy bun as today she does her Sunday reset. She went back downstairs to start her cleaning frenzy, when suddenly she heard a knock at the door. She wasn't expecting anyone today. "Must be the mailman" she said to herself. She went to answer it. She opened the door, and her heart dropped.
"Claire, hello! Uhm please, come in" Gemma said stuttering. "Argh Gemma, it is so good to see you" Claire said while pulling Gemma in for an embrace. "This was very unexpected, if i'd have known I wouldn't be wearing my homeless outfit" Gemma said jokingly. "Oh don't be silly, we all have those days. Soooo show me the huge diamond that should be weighing you down" Claire said while laughing. Gemma took her hand out her pocket and put her hand in Claire's view.
"Wowwww Leon must of spent a fortune on that" said Claire. "Oh you know Leon, always doing the most. Can I get you a tea or coffee, or a cold drink?" asked Gemma. "A coffee would be lovely, 1 sugar no milk please" demanded Claire. Gemma walked over to the kettle and switched it on. She put her hands on the counter and closed her eyes, taking a big deep breath.
Gemma walks back into the living room with the coffees and sees Claire looking at photos of her and Leon sitting on the fire place. "So then, where is Leon anyway. Shouldn't he be here spending time with his fiancé, giving you a back massage or something?" asked Claire. Gemma laughed, "he's at the gym today, he left 10 minutes before you arrived" answered Gemma.
