Part 5 : rasing the frost child.

It had been 6 years since i had taken in elsa as my own, it took a very long time for her to learn her abilities. I say learn but just her stopping from freezing everything.

When she was about to do that i started teaching her the basics of magic for some one her age, i also made sure she could read all the spell books and she was quite good at it. Heck i think she was a better reader then i was at that age and that says something.

I one day walked in after a long day of teaching only to see elsa had skipped a class at the coven and was sleeping on my sofa because she was reading her favourite spell books all day. These books were meant for people twice her age but that didnt stop her.

It took some time to keep her still enough to get her to go to class and often i had to teach her at home but it was all fun. She was such a curious and smart child. I wonder how much of that she did get from her parents.

Either way when she was a few months past 6 years old it was time for her to finally join in with active life with the rest of the coven children.

With me she has always been active , cheery, curios but around the other kids she had been shy and always ran back to me and hid behind me. Eventually i knew it couldnt go on like this so i needed to give her a friend to play with while i did other things. Eventually I figured why not some one who has been in a very similar situation to her?

Stella made the perfect choice, her father dropped her off her at the end of the end civil war and she took some time to adjust to, they were also similar in age so it all would stack up quite nicely.

It took a few trys but eventually the two started getting along and always were around each other when i couldnt look after elsa. I was watching them play one day relaxing as the sun began to set in the sky till one of my warrior wizards returned from a journey.

" what is it ?" I asked him " find anything out there?" He seemed to have worry on his face.

he cleared his throat " sir.... Theres some one who wishes to speak with you. He said his name was ghaul." In an instant i jumped to my feet.

" where?" I asked him with urgency, ghaul was some one i never wanted near my coven.

I knew what he was capable of and what his use of magic was, making curses to continue his life was unnatural, even to the level of dark magic born from darkness which i hope will never come to this world.

"We saw him not too far from here, he said he would be waiting for your in the deepest parts of the woods." This would either be a trap or him wanting me far away from the coven so i coudlnt pull a trap on him.

Ive wanted to deal with ghaul for many years but i knew fighting the order of assassins wasnt going to be achievable with just the coven, so i had been biding my time to one day strike him down.

" i will go alone, keep the whole coven on high alert and get the children inside. No body leaves or comes in this place until i give the word." He nodded and went to sound the alarm bells.

Elsa went with stella to my home for shelter while i prepared to face ghaul, i was unsure could i beat him in a head on fight but i was still going to be prepared for it. I prepared many of my spell books and any extra magic tools i might need in this fight and then sought ghaul out.

I walked out of the coven walls and the gate slammed down behind me, i stopped to wipe some dirt off my glasses and then set out. I had walked for about an hour through woodland after woodland looking for where ghaul was.

For all i knew he could be watching me in the distance but I normally sense this kind of thing so i doubt. By this point the sky was in full night and i had nothing but the moon light and a arcane glowing ball to light my way across the dark forest.

I was nearly about to turn around , then i heard a clashing sound of metal, by the sounds of it blade were being swung and banging off each other. I made the arcane ball fade away and turned to see in the darkest shadow two sickle like blades spinning slowing. They were enchanted with a blue glow so i could seem them clearly in the dark.

This was ghaul no question. " why did you ask me to come here ghaul?" I asked him as he got closer.

The moon light then went on him showing me his cursed skin. He stopped moving his blades and put them on his back under his cape.

Ghaul " i came to give you the same offer i have always given you, however this is the last time i will give this offer."

"No." I said not letting him explain , even if this wasnt something i had heard before anything that comes out of his mouth was more then likely a lie.

Ghaul " not in a good mood today are we grand wizard ?" He asked as he folded his arms behind his back.

" its grand sorcerer and i was in a good mood till I remembered you are on this planet with me. I will never join you and your crusade. You think killing 1000s will unite the world to prepare it for herobrine is a good cause to rally behind? Then your just as insane as he was." He did not like me comparing him to herobrine but he still kept his anger mostly in check.

Ghaul " im only going to sacrifice a small amount of people to save everyone else, only the strong will survive and i will make the strong people rise up and fight. I suppose maybe i could go into your coven pick out which ever ones i liked , im sure some of them are strong enough to join me-" without hesitation i summoned an arcane dagger and sent it directly at his throat only for him to lean back and catch it.

The blade disappeared in his hand and he laughed " i dont blame you for trying, now my operation in a few years will nearly be ready. You have until then to decide to join me. If you do not then everyone there will die in the flames of your own ignorance."

"Id rather be 'ignorant' then be like you. My people only fight when we have to and if you wish to hurt us. we will fight you."

Ghaul " you wont win that fight, but if its yo choice to die victor, be my guest for it. After all unlike me you cant cheat death." He said this with pride, but i knew what he really thought do death.

" you dont cheat death, you cower and fear it, we all die eventually, even gods die. So its only a matter of time before she comes for you." He was getting ore frustrated with me.

Ghaul " your lucky i dont feel like killing you today, most people arent that lucky to get such a thing. Keep my offer in mind victor. That way your people will live, and if you dont well you know what will happen."

" i know you ghaul, your fears will be your end. I take people in to teach them to be better, you take them and turn then into killers, thats why you took astird you knew she could be yours." I was disgusted by the things he forced upon the people he took in.

Ghaul " astird will stand by me till the very end, the world turned its back on her for something she could not control, same for me and i bet same for you since you started the coven."

" im done here." I said as i started walking back to the coven but then a person jumped dwon from a tree and pointed a crossbow at me " speaking of Astird."

Ghaul " unlike you i dont normally travel alone vic, now like i said " he took out one of his blades and used it to slowly push astrids hand down " i have no intention of killing you... yet. Especially not today. You will get your time if you dont join us but we will see that later." Astrid and ghaul then pulled out an ender pearl each and threw them into the distance opposite direction of the coven.

After a short wait they teleported and i was left alone, i of course started making my way back to the coven to make sure it had not been attacked by ghauls assassins while i was talking to him.

I was glad to see it was untouched and safe still filled with the people i care so much for, but if ghauls coming plans really will soon happen we must be ready. He said a few years but that could be 3 it could be 6 who knows, either way i knew we had to be prepared.

I will not lose the thing i have worked so hard for to that mad man.
