Part 9: the prologue to a journey.

(Pov mara)

After a few months i had grown a bit closer to klaus, he threaten me not as a guess but almost like family and seemed very attached to me. I eventually found out this was due to the dead of his daughter which i did not know of. I dont think his love forr me though is less real but i do think he still has more grieving to do.

But the time had come i now knew where i wanted to go to help spread the benefits of my technology so i could better help everyone in this world. The frost bourne, the largest and one of the most modern nations in the overworld, they were the perfect place to start.

If i could get my tech there it could influence the rest of the world to gain more tech from me and just making life so much better. Granted i know some of that will be going into weapons but thats a sacrifice im willing to make, to help better the world it needs just as good weapons so it can defend itself.

I woke up on a cloudy morning as it was raining, i began to pack some things just to save me doing it later before making my way down through the halls where i met Karloff as we walked in different directions.

"Hey wheres the big man?" I asked him.

Karloff " breakfast, better hurry if you want some your self." We both laughed slightly before growing out of ear shot from each other. I wouldnt say im friends with him but we have definitely gotten on much more now than we have before.

I opened the doors to the breakfast hall and saw klaus eating, he dropped his spoon and smiled as he finished what was in his mouth.

"Morning klaus " i said greeting him as i walked up to the table but didnt sit down.

Klaus " morning to you too mara, weather isnt great right now but im sure it will get better, maybe we can go finishing later if it clears up." As much gun as that sounded ..it was time i got out of here.

I did grow to like this place strangely enough. Despite the crazy fights and ...illegal activities i had to ignore. But it was time i moved on and helped other people. I could tell by the look on his face changing he could tell i was going to say something we wasnt going to be happy with.

"Klaus..... i know where i want to go, the frost bourne. I know its a long time away but i need to go soon. Especially since winter is coming soon and it will be too cold for me to head then." He stood up and walked up to me.

He took my hand and put both his hands around it " if that is what you wish, i will do my best to help. Pack your things mara..... i will see what i can do for getting you to the frost bourne." I then hugged him for understanding and not being upset.

If i said the same thing to my dad he would either not pay attention or order me to stop, main reason i ran away i suppose.

"Thanks d- klaus." I went off to pack the rest of my things as klaus went off to find me a way to get to the frost bourne, how at this stage in the year i have no idea. He wouldnt have the time to take me himself as much as he would like so he will need to find some one he can trust to escort me.... I will admit i was too scared to go on my own with the undead around.

I just hope its some one he trusts there for i can trust.

(Pov narrator)

Later in the day klaus was pacing in his room with Karloff in with him, he was unsure what he could do to help mara get to the frost bourne without causing problems for his criminal small empire he had built up.

Klaus " think Karloff there has to be something we can do to help her......maybe i can call in a favour." As if a light bulb popped over his head he turned to Karloff " theres one person i know who would have people who could do this." Karloff could tell who he was referring to and didnt think it was such a good idea.
