WHEN HEARTS MISSED THEIR CHANCE (LA CINTO SERIES 1)

prologue

I'm heading to the basketball court now, not to watch, but to sketch. There's usually no one there.

With only a few people around, I sat down and started drawing. Suddenly.. My phone rang

*ring ring ring

" kuya Shan? "

"Faye, where are you? Daddy is at the hospital," he said.

"H-Huh! What happened to Daddy?"

"Just come here. I'll explain later," he replied.

I quickly packed up my things and ran. In my haste, I accidentally bumped into a guy.

I immediately apologized, saying, "Sorry."

Without looking back, I continued running.
When I arrived at the hospital, Kuya was the first person I saw. Shan, explained it.

I went to Papa and held his hand.I stared at Papa lying unconscious.

He had an accident in the car.

I cried because it hurt to see Papa like this.

I fell asleep, probably because I was tired.

"Faye, go home. You still have school tomorrow. I'll take care of things here. Liam is already at home, he'll be with you along with Manang Loleng," Shan said.

I nodded and grabbed my bag, but not before looking at Daddy one more time before leaving.

When I arrived home, Manang Loleng greeted me.

"How is your daddy? Have you eaten? Liam left to visit your daddy, he might be coming later," she said.

"He'll be fine. I'm full now, so I'll just go to sleep."

I went to my room and slept.

[5:00 am]
I woke up early, ate breakfast, and took a shower before leaving.

I wore a uniform, a white shirt with a necktie, and a skirt. I also wore long socks and black shoes.

I was about to enter the library when suddenly I heard some girls squealing with excitement.

I looked to see what it was and saw a guy in the middle surrounded by girls who were swooning.

"He was handsome", and one girl even screamed in delight.

Yes, he was good-looking.

He had fair skin, tall stature, a sharp nose, thick eyebrows, and messy hair, but he still looked incredibly handsome. He was wearing the full school uniform, he has blue eyes.

Our eyes met briefly, and I quickly looked away. I felt something in my stomach, so I continued on my way to the library.

I went to the basketball court to eat there since the canteen was quite crowded.

I stopped in my tracks when I saw some guys playing basketball, so I decided to leave. Suddenly, I panicked as a ball came flying towards my face.

The guy who I saw earlier hit the ball.

Whew, that was close.

I glanced at him, and he glanced back at me. I approached him and immediately smell his scent.

"Sorry," I said to the guy.

He just looked at me with a cold stare.

Huh, earlier he was so sweet to another girl, but not to me. He didn't even nod.
Just because I'm not attractive.

My face is small, my skin is pale like milk, I have thick eyebrows, and my nose is slightly pointed. My cheeks are a bit pinkish, and I have large vampire fangs.

I always wear glasses, and I have bangs that cover my forehead and eyebrows. like a nerd!

I don't bother with my appearance.I also wear a face mask sometimes, And I don't have any friends.

I went back to our classroom, we had a quiz, and once again, I got the highest score on the quiz.

I've got an A+

After our class, I went straight to the library and noticed a guy reading alone.

I don't know why, but it felt like my feet just led me towards him.

"Hi," I greeted him.

But he didn't even bother to look at me.

Am I really that ugly that I don't even deserve to be-

I just looked for a book to read and started reading.

Every second, I would steal glances at him.

He closed his book and organized his things, it seemed like he was about to leave, so I also tidied up.
He walked towards the door, and I followed him.

"Are you also from la cinto" I asked him.

He just nodded.

A tricycle approached us.

I got on first, and he followed. Now, he was sitting beside me.

Oh my God, he smells so good, and his veiny hand

He took some money from his wallet and was about to pay.

"Manong, dalawa po, para sa kanya at para sakin"

Haluh?

"T-thank you"

Nauna akong bumabang tricycle, nag smile ako sa kanya
I easily get attached to him. I think I'm starting to like him.

I was greeted by Kuya Shan with a smile.

"How's your day, baby?" Kuya asked, planting a kiss on my forehead.

"It's going well," I replied.

"How's Daddy?" I asked Kuya.

He smiled before speaking, "Daddy is doing fine. He can come home next week."

I smiled back at him and hugged him.

I went to my room and changed my clothes.

I decided to go to Kuya Liam's room.
I knocked on his door.

"Kuya," I called out.

"Why, baby?" he asked as he opened the door for me.

"Nothing, I just wanted to check on you. Daddy is doing fine now," I said.

"Oh, Shan already told you that he'll be coming home next week, right?" he asked.

I nodded.

"And have you eaten?" he asked.

"Not yet, I'll eat later," I replied.

"Alright," he kiss my forehead.

After eating, I read for a while and then went to sleep.
