'Sirius Black now at large!' was the headline of the daily prophet that glared back at Cora when she went down for breakfast. She faintly registered that her hair had turned a shocking, bright white, to represent her rubbling anxiety. Cora ripped up the paper from the table and furiously read through the entire thing, absorbing every detail about the article which was confirming her worst vision went blurry and she could barely feel Theo's hand on her shoulder. She couldn't hear anything over the deafening ringing in her ears. She felt faint, nauseous, dizzy. She couldn't breathe. Her hands shook so violently that the paper slipped from her fingers and onto the table in front of her.
Theo grabbed her shoulders and spun her around so they were face to face. "Cora, take a breath. What happened? What's wrong." Theo asked his voice laced with worry for his cousin.
Cora took a shuddering breath. "It's my father, he escaped Azkaban."
—————
Theo's face paled dramatically until his face was as white as Coras hair. "He can't have. It's impossible. Nobody can escape Azkaban." Theo muttered slightly panicked.
"Well its possible now. It says so in the Prophet. Here," Cora plucked the paper from where she had dropped it, and gave it to Theodore to read, "its a very detailed article. And its not written by that bitch Rita Skeeter, so it must be true." She paid close attention to his face as he read, trying to distract herself from her own panic.
"Oh, Salazar." Theo sighed softly once he had read the article. He quickly wrapped his arms around his sisters and held her tight to his chest, giving her a massive bear hug. "Cora it's okay, you'll be fine. He can't get to you. Here or at Hogwarts." He whispered reassuringly into her hair, as she hugged him back and buried her face into her brothers shoulder.

Cordelia quickly got over the fact that her murderous father was wondering around Britain and tried to the best of her ability to enjoy her summer, so when she got a letter from Harry saying that he had ran away from his only remaining family and was now living at The Leaky Calderon, she immediately made the trip through Floo to see him.
When Cora stepped out of the fireplace - ever so gracefully - her modified pale green eyes met vibrant emerald eyes. She flashed Harry a grin and walked to his table to give him a hug. "I cannot believe that you ran away. You never said why, what happened?" Cora asked gently in his ear, knowing that his aunt and uncle were not the nicest people.
Harry laughed as he let her go and they both sat down at his table. "Well its a long story, but I kind of blew up my uncles sister." he said in a very awkward tone. Coras jaw dropped dramatically and she gaped at him.
"I'm sorry. You what?" Cora exclaimed very loudly.
"Shush Cora." Harry urged her to be quiet as his face blossomed a very deep shade of maroon. "She was being very rude about my parents and I lost my temper. Then, well, she just grew and grew and grew. And she floated away. It was a total accident." Harry finished looking even more red if that was even possible. His face was the same shade of burgundy as the quaffle he played quidditch with.
"Wow Harry. Well done. I didn't know you had it in you. But, really, you should work on controlling your temper. You wouldn't want to do that to someone you liked, would you?" Cora mused, remarking on the fact that Harry, although painfully kind, did have a vicious temper. "You should try occlumency." Then when Harry looked horribly confused she explained, "It's the wizards version of meditation, it is very good for managing emotions and organising your thoughts. It can even help you to remember information better."
"Cora, how do you know all this?" Harry inquired, curious as to how his best friend knew everything about some topics.
"The book Hermione gave me about Metamorphmagus had a section on occlumency, because some changes are involuntary due to overwhelming emotions. I spent ages researching it in the library in Nott Manor and once I found a book detailing how to actually do it, I started practicing. I've been practicing all summer. It's quite difficult to start with but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. And-" Cora rambled before being cut off by Harry.
"Cora that's amazing but I don't need to start doing occlumency, I'm doing just fine on my own." Harry explained arrogantly.
"Sure you are, but when a legilimence starts reading your mind, don't come crying to me for help." Cora said with a dramatic flourish and stood as she had noticed the Weasley clan walking into the pub.
"Wait! Cora! What do you mean 'read my mind'? Wizards can do that?" Harry asked, hastily standing to follow his friend who had just dropped a humongous bomb on him. Although Cora got whisked away by the twins and disappeared in the sea of red-heads.
—————
"Gred! Forge! You're back." Cora exclaimed as soon as she caught up to them, and hit both of the on the back of their heads. "How dare you two not tell me you were going to Egypt."
"Merlin, Cor. There is no need to be so aggressive." Fred said.
"And we didn't know we were going until the morning we left. Mother dearest didn't tell us that Dad had won the money." George said.
"I guess you're forgiven. Also I thought you'd like to know, I have figured it out." Cora replied, putting extra emphasis on the 'it'. The twins immediately had matching evil grins on their faces, while they asked her a million questions each.
