"Yeah, you see, this is cute" Max wobbles his finger between Lando and I the following morning with a mouthful of food as we sit at the breakfast bar.
"And calling before you came over was a really smart idea" Lando sasses, yawning as soon as he completes the sentence.
I had woken up in the morning to a lovely sensation between my thighs. Lando's fingers had found their way underneath my panties for a nice morning wake up, his lips immediately on my neck the moment he realised I was now fully conscious.
Finishing me off swiftly, I push him back over onto his back and had my lips tight around his throbbing length, swirling my tongue in a rhythmic circle until the vibrating phone on the bedside table send a groan through the entire apartment.
"Just ignore it" I'd whispered, running my fingers teasingly around the section of exposed skin his waistband would have sat.
"Chances are he is calling from the other side of the door" Lando had commented, reaching over to answer the call.
Turns out he was almost correct, and Max was entering the apartment block building.
I had returned my shirt and was securing the button of my jeans as I promised to finish later on.
"I don't even think I want to know" Max chuckles with a red flush spreading across his face.
"Did Lando tell you there was progress yesterday?" I chirp in, changing the conversation from this very not so vague conversation about our sex life.
"It was hardly progress" Lando comments, sending me a look.
Max's head darts between me and Lando, seeking an answer from one of us.
I quickly chew and swallow the mouthful of Sultana Brand I had just shovelled in. "Todd could feel him pressing against him"
Max's eyes widen in shock, "You're joking?" he gasps. "That's incredible mate"
Lando shakes his head, "It was hardly, he said it was so faint, but I was giving myself a hernia with how much force I was using"
"Don't down play it" I comment. "It's amazing"
Max nods his head, "That's so good. I'm proud of you mate"
Lando drops his head, digging into the bowl of his cereal, shaking his head but I can see the pride smirk on his face which sends a warm flourish to the pit of my stomach.
"What's todays plan then?" Max asks.
I shake my head, "Not really one, I think" I squint my eye trying to rack my brain, feeling like my memory had become so fogging lately.
"I was hoping I could steal this one for the day then" Max suggests, his head crooking to Lando.
"Oh, of course" I sing.
"Why can't see come?" Lando asks instantly.
I send him an amused look, "It's okay. You two need some boy time, and I probably need myself some girl time" I quickly add.
"Girl time?" Max questions.
I wave him off, ignoring his dig by filling my mouth with another mouthful.
"Anyway, I was thinking we could head out to the track" Max suggests.
"No" Lando quickly answers.
"What's wrong with the track?" I ask.
Lando sends a warning look toward Max, his eyes telling him to abort whatever confession Max was about to share.
"Nothing, we just used to go there as kids" Max answers, however his attention is completely on Lando. The two of them sharing a secret conversation between them. "Just thought we could go back and take a look around"
"Well that sounds nice" I respond, accepting the fact that these two would certainly have a history I'm not aware of. "I'm going to have a shower, and then I'll get out of your hair."
When I close the door to the bathroom, I turn the shower on, however press my ear against the door of the bathroom, seeing if I could hear any conversations being had. I could hear some mumbles, but nothing that I could make out.
Pulling my phone out of my back pocket, I send a text message to Doctor Luthum asking him if it was possible to come in for an appointment today.
Stepping into the shower, I run my hair under the water, stealing some of Lando's shampoo and conditioner to run through my strands.
Tossing the hair over my shoulder, I run my fingers through the ends, using them like a brush. When I feel small clumps of hair coming out wrapped around my fingers, I collect them in the bundle, my heart racing with nerves and confusion.
I sit the wet clump on the corner of the bath, and quickly finish off my shower, before stepping out and wrapping a towel around me.
It confused me as to why I might be losing hair, I hadn't started any sort of treatment that would have these sorts of side effects, and I had never heard of it happening just because you're diagnosed with the 'c' word.
Stepping back into my jeans and my tshirt, I pick up the clump of hair from the edge of the bath and stuff it into the back pocket of my jeans.
Seeing a reply from Doctor Luthum on the screen of my phone gives me slight hope, seeing that he is able to fit me in today around 10. I check the time and see that I have about an hour to get down to the hospital.
Searching through my hair in the reflection of the mirror, I see if there is any evidence of where I had lost the hair from. I decided to throw it up in a quick braid just in case.
"Okay, I'm going to get going" I announce as I leave the bathroom.
"Wait, hang on a minute" Lando calls out from the living room as he redirects his chair around the couch. "What's the rush?"
"Nothing" I clip, trying to hide my nerve clenching fear.
"Ab?" Lando asks as he gets closer, his voice almost whispering. "What's wrong?"
I shake my head as his hands reach out to interlock with mine.
"You sure?" He assures.
I nod my head with a forced smile, "I'm good. I'll see you later for dinner yeah? Have fun"
Bending down to kiss him, I barely get a response from him.
"Bye Max" I call out as I get myself out of the apartment as quick as I can.
Reaching my hand into my back pocket, I pull out the clump of hair, examining it in between my fingers, a lump in my throat forcing tears of fear to well up in my eyes before I shove it back into the pocket and press the down button of the elevator impatiently.
