Rok Soo couldn't believe his luck when he encountered Cale. The mere act of receiving food from a stranger was something he wouldn't have dared to do just a year ago, but circumstances had shifted drastically since then. His parents' warnings about strangers seemed like distant echoes in his mind now, drowned out by the immediate need to survive.
As he sat there, munching on the food Cale had given him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort wash over him. It was a stark contrast to the usual harshness and neglect he faced at home. Cale's kind eyes and gentle demeanor were a stark contrast to the cruelty of his uncle.
Bringing Cale home was a risky decision, but one that paid off in ways Rok Soo could never have imagined. Witnessing Cale's effortless display of wealth and power as he dealt with his uncle left Rok Soo in awe. It was as if a guardian angel had descended from the heavens to rescue him from his misery.
From that moment on, Rok Soo's life took a drastic turn. He no longer shivered in the cold, went hungry, or bore the brunt of his uncle's wrath. Instead, he found himself enveloped in a world of warmth, kindness, and genuine affection. For the first time in his young life, Rok Soo felt loved and cared for.
In Cale, he found not just a savior, but a brother figure who showed him the true meaning of family under his uncle's harsh treatment towards him after his parent's that only loved him.
One thing that was clear as a crystal is that Cale Henituse, his adopted brother loved him dearly. Sometimes Cale acts like a mother towards Rok Soo, it was ironic to hear that Cale didn't have a family other than Ron, Han and Beacrox.
One time Cale had told him his family situation which was really saddening. Rok Soo at that time didn't know whether to scold or admire his brother's plan that actually worked for 10 years? Rok Soo could see that Cale wasn't treating him as a substitute for his deceased sibling. It was unmistakable in Cale's demeanor and the tender gazes upon him—those warm, reddish-brown eyes radiating genuine familial love and adoration.
And after having lived together with Cale almost two years, Rok Soo was now familiar with Cale's personality and with that the uncertainty Rok Soo had towards the idea of he might be just a replacement had vanished completely.
Cale was the kind of person who would be overcome with guilt if he ever treated someone as a mere replacement for another. Family always came first for him, and once he considered someone as part of his family, his love for them knew no bounds. He had a remarkable capacity to forgive, regardless of any wrongdoings, much like the forgiveness he extended to his father, whom he continued to love deeply despite their past conflicts.
Rok Soo considered himself lucky by having Cale as his brother. Cale by his side, Rok Soo felt supported, understood, and cherished in a way that he had never experienced ever since he lost his parents.
Cale was like a parent to Rok Soo, so when he learnt that his brother had a lover he hadn't known and Cale didn't mention it. Rok Soo was conflicted, one hand he was glad that Choi Han was his brother's lover but on the other hand he was reluctant to share Cale's love and attention with another person.
Rok Soo wasn't ready to lose half of Cale's attention from him.
8 years wasn't enough, maybe if he had been Cale's brother from the moment he was born then Rok Soo might be less reluctant about it.
Rok Soo and Cale were on their way back home inside the car. Rok Soo was looking outside the car window while Cale was sleeping, his head leaning on Rok Soo's shoulder. When the car arrived at their house,Rok Soo instead of waking Cale he carried him into the house.
