In the dimly lit barracks, amidst the hustle and bustle of military life, Shubman sat with a cherished letter in his hands, eagerly devouring each word penned by his beloved. The soldiers around him observed with mild amusement, accustomed to witnessing his moments of vulnerability.

"Kaisa hai captain!! Pehle hi bata deta hun main ekdam thik hun aur mumma papa aur tere hone wale sasur ji bhi thik hai. Tujhe koi tension lene ki jarurat nahi hai. Aur ek baat bata tu captain kya ban gaya aapne asli captain ko bhul gaya." The words danced off the page, bringing a smile to Shubman's lips as he chuckled softly.

"Shubman sir," one of the soldiers interrupted, attempting to rest.

"Sorry..sorry," Shubman apologized, his attention returning to the letter.

As he continued reading, the playful banter gave way to heartfelt longing. "Hans le jitna hasna hai Hans le. Bada aaya, tujhe meri yaad aati bhi hai ya nahi, pichle 2 mahine se na koi chitthi na koi call kuch nahi." The words echoed with a sense of yearning, a reminder of the distance that separated them.

Shubman's heart ached at the mention of Ishan's longing for home. "Pata hai mumma mujhe call karke puchti hai ki us gadhe ka call aaya aur main mana kar deta hun. Mere bare me nahi kamse kam mumma papa ke baare me toh soch." The guilt weighed heavily on him, knowing that his absence had left a void in the lives of those he held dear.

The playful jests of their past love lingered, a bittersweet reminder of the bond they shared. "Bada tu toh mujhe apna ranjha kehta tha aab bhul hi gaya, tere papa mujhse puchte tere Shona ki koi chitthi kyun nahi aayi toh pata hai main kya bolta hun ki wo maharaj toh busy hai." Shubman's laughter faded, replaced by a pang of longing for the simpler times they had shared.

The threat of missing out on Diwali festivities loomed, Ishan's words a stark reminder of the sacrifices they both made for their duty. "Koi na chalta hai agar is baar Diwali me Ghar nahi aaya na toh dekhna. Kasam se Aisa bomb phodunga na direct Jammu me Jake girega." Despite the bravado, Shubman could sense the underlying sadness in Ishan's words, a reflection of the distance that separated them.

As he reached the end of the letter, Shubman's heart swelled with emotion. "Bahot bakwas kar liya aab bye bye mere Shona. Love you. Yours Ish Kish." The simplicity of Ishan's declaration of love washed over him, a reminder of the unbreakable bond they shared.

In the quiet of the barracks, Shubman clutched the letter to his chest, feeling the weight of Ishan's love envelop him. Despite the distance that separated them, their love remained a beacon of hope amidst the chaos of war, a reminder of the enduring power of love in the face of adversity.

After leaving ishan at his home, shubman came back to his own and directly went to his room.

Meanwhile, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gill, observed their son's unusual behavior with concern. Sensing something amiss, they exchanged worried glances before deciding to confront Shubman.

"Isko kya ho gaya?" Mr. Gill inquired, his voice laced with concern.

"Mujhe kya pata," Mrs. Gill replied, equally perplexed by their son's demeanor.

"Tumhara beta hai, jaake pata karo," Mr. Gill insisted, urging his wife to check on Shubman.

"Kyun aapka nahi hai kya?" Mrs. Gill retorted, teasing her husband playfully as they made their way to Shubman's room.

Ignoring her jest, Mr. Gill led the way, a sense of paternal concern driving him forward. Upon entering Shubman's room, they found him lying on his stomach, his expression distant and troubled.

Approaching him with gentle concern, Mrs. Gill reached out and caressed Shubman's head, hoping to offer him some comfort.

"Kya hua beta?" she asked softly, her voice filled with maternal warmth.
