Day: 154
Experiment: 238743
Age: 18
Log: 238743 is a success. The cure works. The human vaccine no longer lay dormant. We have finished what Dr. Ford and his wife started. Rest in peace the both of you, but they can no longer protect 238743 from me. How astonishing it is that the two of them created the vaccine for all, the cure of all cures, and just left it within their child and their research. What a shame that their research 'burned' in that fire.
-Dr. Montgomery

Never in a million years had I thought that it was truly possible. A vaccine for all, something that could cure everything from all types of cancers, to incurable STDs, and the common cold. At the same time I had never expected for someone to create the zombie virus. I was held between two guard staff, one of which I was handcuffed to as they forced me to watch as a doctor, in another room, explained what the army green liquid did while he held up a syringe that was larger than necessary.
"This may look like something small, but this little drug will shape the rest of our lives." Dr. F. Montgomery spoke in grand boisterous words. He was proud of his work, I mean who wouldn't be when they created something that could in fact change the rest of our lives.
"Is there a reason I'm here for this?" I mumbled to the guards and to another doctor who stood to my left. Her arms were crossed and if I could fully see her face, which was covered by a mask, I would only assume she was frowning.
"You're here because my partner and I need to figure out just how far the virus works." She answered in a monotone voice, barely casting me a look.
There were other doctors and investors around, but we had remained unnoticed. I was just another subject to them; I wasn't an actual person. I wasn't some kid who had lost his parents a few months ago and I wasn't the kid who by god's green earth retained small amounts of a vaccine that could save a lot more lives than we know. I was the newly founded human vaccine; the kid they genetically mutated when messing with the vaccine that lay dormant in my veins.
"Vaxa Biosafety presents you with the very first version of the zombie virus." Dr. Montgomery announced. "Myself and the other scientists and researchers here in the labs are proud to show you our work. Remember that this virus isn't the start of something horrid, but a work around to our ultimate goal of creating the perfect superhuman specimen. So without further adieu."
At his words two nameless researchers rolled a man strapped to a metal medical table and stopped beside the doctor. He assessed the subject before handing one of the researchers the syringe he held, directing them to inject the subject when he left the room. What he failed to mention is that once he had left the room, there was an audible sound of the door locking. Dr. Montgomery walked over to stand next to his partner, only moving enough to hit the PA system.
"You may inject him now."
Both researchers seemed visibly concerned at this point, looking between one another before the one holding the syringe did as told. He just about shoved that needle into the poor man's arm who all but protested at the action.
It was like watching something in slow motion, the man's golden body faded to a lifeless white. He was nearly blue in the lips as everyone around me watched with bated breath. What felt like hours was probably only minutes, but what I watched next had me retching in my seat.
The deadman, who had long gone still and quiet, sat up. His eyes were a dark crimson and the veins in his body were turning a disgusting shade of blackish green against the stark white of his skin. He first tugged at his arms and legs, eyes bewildered at his immobility. Then this god awful sound left his lips, it was like the screech of a cat paired with an overactive vocalizing parrot and a howler monkey. The sound had sent chills down my spine, even as he ripped himself from the binds and grabbed the closest researcher, the one who injected him. The zombie pulled the researcher to him before tearing into his neck.
