"Papa," I woke up the next morning curled against a set of strong arms that held me tight and a toddler poking my cheek as she stood in what little space lay between Rian and I. "Papa, wake up, I'm hungry."

I groaned, swatting gently at Calypso's hand as I tried to snuggle further into her father. "Cal, it's too early, go back to bed and let your daddy and I sleep."

After he had finished reading her file, we sat her down and explained the best we could to a four year old, that this new person in her life was her second father. We explained how she had two fathers and that San had been looking really hard for her and I because we got separated when she was younger; we left out the part of him not knowing about her for when she would be old enough to understand our whole situation. She accepted the fact fairly well and asked what San wanted her to call him; he was all too happy to answer with daddy, dadda or dad, whichever she preferred.

Like she was reminded that she now had a second parent to bother with her morning pestering, she turned to San. "Daddy. Daddy. Dadda. Daddy."

"What?" He groaned, tucking his head against the top of my own.

"Wake up, I'm hungry." She spoke, and when I cracked open an I, I watched as she started poking him.

"Wake up your Papa."

I moved my head just enough for him to move away from the top of my head and his ear falling closer to my mouth. "You fucker." Just as I spoke, Callie piped up. "But he told me to wake you up instead."

I sighed softly, pulling myself out of San's arms, sitting up, and giving my daughter a pointed look as I yawned. "Okay, little monster, let's get you food."

She grinned before jumping off the bed, nearly giving me a heart attack, and running out of the room. I was just about to fully get out of bed when I was pulled back into San's warm embrace. The man had pulled me back down into his arms and had tucked me back against him. The two of us had fallen asleep late last night while he was looking over every file that lay in the box. I had learned that the experiment 743000 was his horde and that 743001, 743002, and 743003 were his inner horde. From what he said, the zombie from last night was 743001. Regardless of that, he and I had fallen asleep in the same bed, my heart hammering in my chest when I had woken within the early hours of the morning to find him cradling me against him. I fell back asleep, smiling to myself. To wake up like this, I had my heart pounding against my chest ready to break free; I had only dreamed of waking next to him.

"Are you nervous?" He mumbled against me.

"No," I shook my head.

"Then why is your heart beating a mile a minute, Doll?"

I flushed, happy his eyes were closed and he could see me. "I'm not nervous, quite the opposite actually. To wake up next to the man I have crushed on for so many years and to know that he has liked me in the same fashion, I think my heart has a reason to beat as fast as it is now."

He was fully awake now, grinning to himself. "Good."

I pulled away from him sitting up in bed, the man doing the same thing, though his smile faded.

"I'm gonna have to leave soon. Probably within the next day or two, but after that I want to take whatever time you'll give me to get reacquainted with you. In whatever way you'd let me."

"Leaving?" I breathed, slipping out of bed.

I rounded the bed, walking to my closet for a new set of clothes, but he caught my wrist in his hand as he chased after me. He spun me around, my body between his legs as he plopped back on the bed, hand caressing my arm as he spoke. "Well I told the crew I was traveling with that I'd give this place a look and that if I deemed it safe, then I'd bring them back here. I had also planned to leave them here and go looking for you, but since you're here, I can cross that one off my list. Either way I plan to keep the promise I made to them. I have to go back for them."
