Something is wrong.
You try to find the will to lift your head, but no use. You feel unusually calm, too. It's like your body has accepted and expected this.
You try to pry your eyes open in hopes of at least knowing what's happening, but again, you can't. What's happening? It seems you've noticed for too long that you can't do anything.
The only thing you could but still faintly feel was the oxygen mask shakily put on the lower portion of your face as your laboured breaths fogged the chamber.
You hear a cry nearby—a familiar cry. It seems similar to someone you love…huh, despite how much you love that person, you can't seem to remember them.
Suddenly, everything fades to white. A heaven-foggy, unusual white. And you feel your eyes open as if on command. You wonder as you lift your upper body up, now sitting on the ground.
Then a little black cat with red eyes hopped in your direction, it chitters for a while, then turns to your tear-stained face. What were you crying about?
“You died an awful death.” Oh, it talks. Trying to ignore the rude comment as it soon climbed into your lap, you instinctively petted it. It purrs for a while, then it continues, “It’s even unusual that I pity you. Maybe I’ll bring you back, that's what you want, right?”
You hesitantly... nod and it gives you back one in return as well. “This time. Survive. Survive at all costs. Don't cower away.”
You try to speak and say why, but it quickly hops off your lap and starts walking away.
“Since I pity you.” It turns back again. “It’s your favourite; welcome to the School Bus Graveyard.”
