Chapter 3 A Sense of Direction

I woke up in a very spacious room, and out of all the places to sleep at I was somehow curled up next to Chanyeol. I was happy to see him but then I remembered yesterday and started to shake. I was terrified now, of my brother Lay who is also a wolf, not knowing where I'm at, and so much more. I bet Chanyeol can sense me being afraid because he then suddenly woke up and asked if I was alright.

"Yeah, I'm fine. w-why wouldn't I be?" I said as he gave me a look that said 'your lying'. and I sighed because I know I cant get past him. he knows me too well...

"then why are you stuttering?" he asked calmly

"uh, I w-was cold...." I said trying to make it sound believable, but I couldn't because of how afraid I was. and he gave me another look that said 'tell me the truth'. to be honest I didn't want to hurt his feelings by saying I'm afraid of him because he's a wolf. that sounds unfair, I mean its not HIS fault he is this way.

"its because I'm a wolf isn't it?" he sighed as I nodded. he looked hurt, and that's exactly what I wanted to avoid. even if I was afraid I built up the courage to hug him. he smiled and hugged me back, it was like old times. when I didn't know he was a wolf..... After a little while I became comfortable with him, he told me a bunch of things about wolf life. it was very interesting and I wanted to know more but then realization hit me. I have to go back, I started spacing out thinking of all the outcomes. and they all didn't end well.

"hey are you okay?" Chanyeol asked as I ended my train of thought.

"no...." I replied.

"tell me." he said as I sighed. I then began explaining to him about having to go back to Lay, even though I am afraid of him. and how I will have to face his members because we all live there... especially Tao..... he looked sad for me.

"you can stay with me if you want?" he asked very kindly. my heart then melted hearing this, he was so sweet...

"I'm sorry... but I cant, the more I wait the worse his reaction will be to me....." I said and he sadly agreed.. we then went out of the place we were at and I saw it was a tree. it was kind of like the tardis..... (references anyone!!!!! XD) since it was in the middle of the day Chanyeol couldn't turn into a wolf to get us to my house faster because someone could end up seeing him. so instead we walked. we talked about a bunch of stuff, it was all random. but after no time at all we ended up at the house. Chanyeol and I walked up to the house and when we were in the middle of the driveway Lay, Tao, and Xiumin ran outside. Lay quickly grabbed me and hugged me but soon after I saw Tao and Xiumin walk up to Chanyeol and look like they were going to attack him. and they definitely were because both released their claws and headed towards him. I quickly got out of Lays arms and ran in front of Chanyeol expecting to get slashed by one of them. but just as I opened my eyes I saw Xiumin's hand an inch from my face....

"E-emma, I'm s-sorry..." Xiumin said as I ran into Chanyeol's arms. he looked mad at me.

"please don't do that again. I would rather me be hurt than you...." he whispered into my ear as he hugged me tight. I felt safe in his arms...

"you have no right of being here. leave now." Tao demanded as Chanyeol let go of me...

"if anything happens, anything at all and you need me to protect you. call me, text me, and if you cant shout my name and I will come no doubt." he whispered into my ear and ran off. Tao had a smug look on his face.. and it was only me and him out here. Lay and Xiumin went back inside when Xiumin apologized to me.

"I was worried about you baby~" Tao cooed as he came closer to me, but I backed away.

"Don't come near me Tao." I said as he pretended to look hurt. but only came closer within each second. I didn't know what to do, I didn't want Chanyeol coming back so soon. I don't want him to worry about me so much. I don't want to be dependent on him, but I am...... without knowing Tao was almost inches away from my face....

"I know you cant resist me~" he said into my ear which made my knees weak again. I swear this guy is annoying and horrible but can make a girl weak..... that's his strength, making me weak. but each time he did it I also had an escape, but I don't now...... I have only one person, and I need him here. with me. so with that right before Tao was about to kiss me I yelled Chanyeol's name. but just as I was finishing up his name Tao covered my mouth.

"don't call for him! all you need is me~" he said as I bit his hand and he released me. I ran, ran about as fast as I could. I stopped and looked around, I was in the forest again. I still remember the walk with Chanyeol, and I began to run to the fallen tree. as I arrived at the fallen tree I quickly entered and covered up the entrance with moss, leaves, and branches. I made it so it looked like nature itself and nothing more. I then heard panting, it sounded like Tao..... he was running after me.....

"EMMA!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!" He yelled as I squeezed my eyes shut and stayed as quiet as possible. It's a good thing I jumped into that lake again, so he wont be able to smell me. right as I saw his legs through the moss. and he started running again. I then quickly took out my phone and texted Chanyeol.

M: Channie help me, im at the meeting place please hurry!

C: im coming right now. are you hurt.

I looked at my arms they were red, some was blood. right before I bit Tao he cut my arms with his claws. I didn't even notice it until now because of the adrenaline that was rushing through my body at the moment I couldn't even feel pain. until now... one of them is deep, I think I need stitches for that one. I sighed and responded to Chanyeol..

M: yeah, its not that bad...

a minute after I sent that text message I saw Chanyeol enter our meeting place. yeah that's what we are calling it now. we talked about this during our walk back to my house. as he walked in he saw me.. I probably looked like a mess, I'm trenched in dirty water, my hair is all tangled, my arm is bleeding badly.. he looked at me, he was worried for me. that's exactly what I didn't want. then he ran into my arms... crying....

"Emma... I was... s-so.... w-worried about..... y-you...." he said in between sobs. and I was the reason why he was hurting, I didn't want this..... sometimes I wish that I didn't exist... because then I wouldnt have been the reason why you are hurting right now..... I thought as he looked at me with an even more hurt look. can he read minds or something.

"don't say that!" he said.

"don't say what?" I asked confused.

"don't ever say that you wish you didn't exist because then I wouldn't have met you." he replied, then I realized. I had just said my thoughts aloud... I was till trying to stay quiet just in case Tao came over here.

"why what's so amazing about me? I'm just your average girl. what makes me so important that I cant exist?" I asked as he looked into my eyes with passion in them.

"because then I wouldn't have fallen for you...." he mumbled but I couldn't hear clearly.

"hmm, what did you say?" I asked as he blushed and looked away,

"nothing..." he replied as I looked away as well.

"your arm.. You need stitches.." he said as the conversation turned into my bleeding arm. and it was bleeding a lot, we weren't focused on it enough to realize that I was moments from passing out.... and all I could say before that happen was...................

A/N HAHAHA I FINALLY MADE THE CLIFFHANGER I WAS WAITING FOR!!! hey sorry guys that I didn't update sooner. I would have but I wrote the chapter but Wattpad decided to delete it........ *sigh* so in the end I had to write this ONE chapter 3 times..... (third times the charm aye....... no... okay) well with this book I will try my hardest to update twice every week! but sometimes it might not happen and well I am apologizing in advanced so MIANHE!!!!!! (sorry in Korean)
