Raindrops tapped against the windows of a small convenience store, creating a soothing rhythm that enveloped the peacefulness of the store inside. A slight breeze blew in from the front door, which was propped open by a few empty baskets, causing Y/n to lift up her scarf just slightly, savouring the warmth it provided,
"Today's Dongjak-gu News FM 97.3 presents your daily weather forecast, brought to you by..." the voice of the weather forecast was muffled among other voices and cashier sounds within the store.
Y/n glances into her basket of goods, making sure everything she needed was inside, she took extra care to remember the favourite snack of her childhood friend too, as he had requested via text message that she would obtain some for him. She then approaches the front counter, patiently waiting for the cashier to ring up her items.
"It has been raining for days and will continue to for the next week. Listeners, make sure to bring your rain gear when you go out to avoid catching a cold." Y/n listens intently to the radio forecast, her thoughts drifting. She then realises that she had failed to remember to bring her umbrella, and decides that using the hood of her jacket was the only solution as the convenience store ones would be an unnecessary cost.
Y/n was interrupted from her thoughts by the cashier, "Your total comes to $12.95, cash or card?"
"Oh- uh, i'll pay cash please."
After handing over the correct amount, Y/n collects her change and items, and walks out of the convenience store. She stops once outside, still sheltered by the store's veranda, and reaches her hand out to feel cold droplets of water landing on her palm. 'Hmmm...' she thinks 'i'll just have to make a run for it.'
Y/n lifts up the hood of her jacket onto her head and prepares to venture out in the rain, only to be stopped by the sound of someone calling her name.
"Hey Y/n!!" She turns her head towards the direction of the voice.
"Jaehyun! You're early."
Jaehyun stops infront of her, leaning over to catch his breath, "I left a few minutes early and ran all the way here to meet you. I figured you were here since you texted me asking if I wanted anything."
"Oh yeah, here you go," Y/n passes the snack she bought for him using an underarm throw. "They didn't have your favourite flavour, sorry."
"That's okay, this one is good too." Jaehyun then glances out towards the grey clouds, where cold water droplets continued to fall from.
"Do you think it's worth waiting for the rain to stop?" Y/n inquires.
Jaehyun shakes his head in response, "It looks like it'll continue to rain, let's make a run for it!" And with that he adjusts the hood on his head and grabs Y/n by the wrist, running down the sidewalk and getting them both completely soaked.
