Journal entry 2
I had the pleasure of meeting with my dear mother today, who imparted upon me the duties and responsibilities I will have as a wife to my future husband. I must admit I was anxious about this meeting, but I was also eager to learn more about what was expected of me. However, as we talked, I found that I did not feel any fear or trepidation. Instead, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation about starting my new life with my husband.
As my mother explained to me, I shall be a queen by marriage, which means that I will have a leading role in my husband's court. This is a great honor and privilege, and I am excited to take on this new role. While Anne, my sister, will still be a duchess, I will have my own court to manage and lead. This will give me the opportunity to step out from behind her skirts and show my own grandeur.
One thing I am particularly excited about is the opportunity to care for my two stepdaughters. I am eager to show them how to be grand ladies, just as my own mother taught me. Today, I was fitted for my new gowns, which will help me fit in better at my new court. I am also eagerly anticipating the creation of my wedding dress, which I have planned down to the smallest detail.
For my wedding dress, I have commissioned a dress that will be silver and gold in color, with real gold lacing on the bottom. It is sure to be a stunning creation, and I cannot wait to wear it on my wedding day. In addition to the dress, my father has commissioned a crown of gold and silver for me. The crown will be shaped like a flower crown, which is a nod to my love of nature. I hope to be remembered as the most beautiful and memorable bride in French history.
All in all, I am eager to start my new life as a wife and queen. Though there will be challenges ahead, I am confident that I am up to the task, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
