Wake Up and Look Alive

Rufio and I shared a smirk as I adjusted my hat onto my head, darting and weaving through tight alleyways with ease.

"Nice of you to help Williams son." Rufio murmured, sparing a glance to the young man following us. "He would have appreciated it." I kept my gaze towards the sea, pushing aside the uncomfortable feeling in my gut that said things were about to start changing. "Well I'm sure you understand that this will bring us back to the Black Pearl? Turns out there's something to gain from this after all." I said smugly, ignoring his gaze.

The three of us found our way near the port, peering out at the ships docked nearby. "We're going to steal a ship?" Will muttered, following our gazes. "That ship?"

I rolled my eyes, "Commandeer. We're going to commandeer that ship. Nautical term- One question about your business, boy, or there's no use going." I turned and looked at him, lowering my voice. "This girl? How far are you willing to go to save her?"

He fidgeted under my gaze, but his voice was sure. "I'd die for her."

I nodded, "Oh, good. No worries, then." Rufio snorted, patting Will on the back as he followed me and muttering something about not taking me too seriously. I rolled my eyes, challenge accepted.

When I explained my plan I thought he might faint, and Rufio shook his head as I gave a sarcastic grin. "What? Don't feel like taking me seriously, boy? Then you can leave us and we'll go after my bloody ship ourselves. Maybe convince the missus to join us as well." I said roguishly, my grin sharp. "I'm sure we'd have some fun..."

Will glowered, spitting threats that I didn't care to listen to as I flipped over the smaller boat. Not long later the three of us were walking underwater with the boat held over our heads, providing us with air. "This is either madness or brilliance." Will grumbled, but the awe was clear in his voice.

"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide." Rufio said, throwing me a teasing look as we approached the ship known as the Dauntless. I smacked his arm, barely holding back a giggle; giggling like a school girl would surely exposing me for being, well, a girl. We climbed over the rails and I held my arms out leisurely. "Everyone stay calm! We are taking over this ship."

"Aye! Avast!" Will yelled, pulling out his sword. Rufio and I cringed as the men laughed, Rufio covering his face for a moment in embarrassment. "This ship cannot be crewed by three men. You'll never make it out of the bay!" One of the men mocked. I sighed, swiftly stepping forward and resting the end of my pistol on the mans nose.

"Son? I'm Captain Jack Sparrow... Savvy?"

Soon the man began yelling from a small rescue boat at a nearby ship, and the ship turned our way when they realized what had happened. "Here they come!" Will called. The three of us got in place quickly, holding onto our ropes.  The crew managed to board the Dauntless, and in moments they had all left the Interceptor. I smirked, giving Rufio and Will the signal and swung across the space onto the Interceptor.

Hearing us land and seeing the Interceptor begin to leave Norrington, the man who put Rufio and I in the jail cell, called out orders. "Sailors, back to the Interceptor! Now!"

I watched cockily as they scrambled, breathing easy as the distance between the ships grew rapidly. "Thank you, Commodore, for getting us ready to make way. We'd have had a hard time of it by ourselves!" I called, grinning madly as I waved.

As we sailed on, Rufio leaned back on the rail as Will sat on a stair near the wheel, sharpening his sword. "When I was a lad living in England , my mother raised me by herself. After she died I came out here, looking for my father." I frowned, sharing a look with Rufio. Huh?
