Kadriye

I was laying  my head on Nicholas's chest, mindlessly playing with the chain around his neck while he watched tv. I didn't care to watch with him because it was one of those British game shows I didn't find interesting. I heard a knock on the door and was about to get up and answer it, but I was stopped.

"Rest, I'll get it." I shrugged and leaned against the headboard while he went to answer the door.

I heard a very familiar Italian accent and quickly got up, trying hard to avoid the pain on my side.

"Nonno, Nene. What are you guys doing here?" I asked when I reached the door. My grandfather was glaring at Nicholas, while my grandmother just looked annoyed.

" Kadri, who is this?" My grandfather asked, ignoring my question.

" This is my boyfriend, Nicholas."

"Boyfriend?! Boyfriend?!" He exclaimed like it's some word he had never heard before. " Have you forgotten what happened the the last time you had a boyfriend?!"

"He wasn't my boyfriend. He was my crush." I correct. He chuckled darkly.

" And if you got that crazy over a crush, what will happen when this..." He looked Nicholas up and down in distaste. "This man, you call your boyfriend, breaks your heart."

" With all due respect, sir. That will never happen." Nicholas spoke up. My grandfather looked at him.

"And how can you be sure about that?" He asked, causing Nicholas to stay silent.

"Marcello, leave the kids alone." My grandmother said, hitting his shoulder. " Kadriye, why don't you and your boyfriend make us some tea. " She shooed us away before going to the leaving room. My grandfather gave us one last look before following.

" I thought you said I wasn't going to meet any more family members yet. "

" I didn't know they were coming over." I sighed, walking into the kitchen and filling up the kettle with water.

" Sit down. I'll make it. " I shrugged and sat down. " Don't know who's scarier. Your father or grandfather."

"They are harmless." I said, resting my elbows on the counter, watching him move around the kitchen.

" To you. When I opened the door, your grandfather wanted to shoot me. And beside their mean looking faces, they are fucking huge. How am I not supposed to be afraid of two huge, scary men –might I add Mafia men?" He ranted.

" They wouldn't hurt you." I stated.

" How could you possibly know that?"

" Because you're important to me. And I am important to them. They know if you hurt, I'll hurt. " I proclaimed. "Now let's go have tea with the grandparents." I said getting up and walking out of the kitchen with Nicholas following behind with the tray of tea and cups.

" How did y'all know I was here? " I ask, plopping down the sofa.

" Only you can cause such a mess." My grandfather smiled proudly. " The clean up crew is still cleaning." He chuckled.

" Did Lorenzo and Matteo get information on the kids?" I asked.

" They did. Some of them are already home. No need to stress." He assured me.

I nodded. I looked over my grandmother and she had a look of distaste on her face as she watch Nicholas pour milk into his tea. I shrugged it off because I didn't know anything about tea because I refuse to drink it. So I just took a muffin that we baked yesterday and ate that.

My grandparents stayed for a couple of hours. And my grandmother absolutely fell in love with Nicholas which made my grandfather glared at him harder. But none of acknowledge it, well except for Nicholas. The poor man was sweating bullets under my grandfather's gaze but he still held pleasant conversation with my grandmother.

When they were finally gone, I was relieved. I loved my grandparents but I wanted alone time with Nicholas.

Nicholas cleaned up the living room and washed the dishes before sitting down next to me on the couch. I got up and straddled him, kissing him on his neck. I was horny. We hadn't had sex for a day.
