One Takeiru Shimada hold his head with his hand, whined and sighed in exhaustion.
"This is a lot worse than we expected.." The Japanese diplomat said.
"No shit Sherlock." Ellison commented.
It was an act of self-defense. Takao and her flotilla's quick action was self-defense. However, whoever sent those wyverns to attack Fenn may not have recognized the self-defense and used the event as an excuse to start a war.
"We should report this to the council." Shimada said.
"How about the Fennese?" Ellison asked.
"We shouldn't too worry about them. The matter now is the talk with the Fennese." Shimada answered.
Then, a Japanese sailor arrived and bowed, "Sumimasen!"
(Excuse me!)
Shimada and Ellison turn around and stare at the bowing Japanese sailor. Shimada glanced at Ellison; the black American shrugged, and Shimada stared at the sailor again.
"Sorehanandesuka?" Shimada asked.
(What is it?)
The Japanese sailor then began to explain the report from Captain Asakura Bunji to Shimada, while Shimada was shocked, nodding several times, and also asking several things.
Meanwhile, Ellison just stood there and didn't understand the conversation between Shimada and the sailor. He just learned Japanese recently and only knows basic Japanese words and sentences.
When the conversation ended, the Japanese sailor bowed again and left.
"So..? What did he told to you?" Ellison asked his Japanese counterpart.
"Apparently, those wyverns that have attacked the city is confirmed to be Parpaldian." Shimada answered with the tone of frustration.
"Well damn." Ellison muttered.
"There's been an escalation between Fenn and Parpaldia. Which might be the reason why Parpaldia attack Fenn." Shimada continued.
"Escalation? What did Fenn do?" Ellison asked again.
"I don't know the details. It's about Parpaldia demanding something from Fenn, which Fenn 'genteelly' refused to fulfill." Shimada replied.
"So, that's the reason why their leader wanted to immediately form an alliance with us." Ellison said.
"They wanted to know our power so they could seek help from us." Shimada muttered.
"Why am I not surprised." Ellison said.
Shimada stared at Takao and her flotilla, thinking something.
"Let's hope the war did not start at this time..."
