Ria sat on one of the benches on the university's campus, poking her overpriced salad with her plastic fork as her friends chatted away. Her mind couldn't shake off the event from two days ago, it had consumed her thoughts."Ria? You still in there?" Her friend, Lucy asked, causing her to snap out of her everlasting thoughts.
"Yeah, sorry." She replied, shaking her head slightly as she sat up more. "What were you guys talking about again?"
"The robing, did you hear about it? At the supermarket you work at." Lucy replied, causing Ria's body to stiffen slightly.
"Apparently they don't even know who did it." Stefani added in.
"That's bad." Ria replied, not knowing what else to say, her eyes darting between her two friends, before looking behind them in the distance, her face paling when she saw who was there, gesturing her over.
"Ria?" Lucy asked, looking behind her, but Lucy didn't know who the man was, neither of them did, he blended in.
"I'll be right back." Ria said, grabbing her bag as she stood up. "I just need the toilet." She lied
"Great excuse, Ria" she thought to herself
Before either of them could respond, Ria had gone into the distance, turning the corner, where Rio stood, an smirk planted on his face.
"Adriana." Rio said, the confidence obvious in his voice, leaning against the wall. "Been a couple days, huh?"
"What are you doing here?" She quickly asked, looking behind her to make sure no was there.
How the hell did you get in?
Rio smirked, ignoring her question. "Your mama and her friends are doing a little job for me." He said, leaning his head against the wall as well. "And I thought to myself, why should I waste you?"
Adella gulped, her confidence immediately disappearing as she wanted nothing more to sink into the concrete right now.
"I've got a little job for you." He said, his hand going into his pocket as he pulled out a note. "You go to this address in an hour and give this." He said, handing her an small bag as well, and adella didn't even have to look twice to now what was inside.
"I've got class." She said, looking around. "Besides, I can't be seen with this. What If I get caught?"
Rio was quick to not listen her excuses, standing up fully from the wall. "I don't care."
She looked down at the note of the address, reading it. She recognised the street, it was an dangerous one, it was full of drugs, of gangs.
But she knew better than to argue, he was an gang leader, he could kill any of them and make sure no one ever knew.
"Tell him it's from me, don't just leave it on him footstep." He told her, before walking away, before Adella could ask anything else.
Her mum had really screwed her over, and there was no going back now
