Misty woke up pretty early with a start. Something inside her was telling her that tonight was going to be special. She picked up her clock and checked the time, and groaned when she saw the red lights flashing six forty-five. She got up, wondering why she had gotten up that early in the morning with a funny feeling inside her, and walked up to her calendar. She scanned the dates till her eyes fell on 31st. How could she have forgotten - it was Halloween! 'It's the last day of October,' she thought, happily. 'Time to have some fun!' She quickly got dressed and ran out of her room.

A little while later, she crept into Stacey's room with a small bucket of ice-cold water and a ball of string. Stacey was lying on her stomach with her hair all over her, one hand hanging over the side of the bed. Misty quietly walked towards her bed and removed the picture frame hanging above it and hung the bucket on the nail instead. She tied one end of the string to it and the other end around Stacey's limp hand. Stacey didn't stir during the whole process. Misty got up and sneaked out of the room and walked into her own. She later reappeared with a bunch of fake spiders and snakes in her hands and walked up to Sarah's room. She opened the door a bit and peeked inside. Sarah was snoring softly with the blanked coiled around her. Misty tiptoed inside and placed the fake spiders and snakes on her bed, but felt that something was missing. She hurried out of the room and later turned up with a bottle of ketchup in her hand. She unscrewed the cap and dabbed the red sauce on Sarah's hair. While doing this, Sarah suddenly snorted and stirred, that made Misty jump back with fright. She waited a few minutes to see whether she was going to get up, and then resumed her work. She stepped back to admire her work, but still felt that this wasn't that terrifying. She ran out of the room and went to get the book, upon returning, she flipped through it hoping it will help her during her fun times too. She was almost giving up as she closed the book, when it forced itself opened to a page with a spell, she smiled and read in a whisper,

"Creepy crawly, they won't be real,

but that's what will scare this girl.

Blood that's fake

will surely make her shake."

The spiders and snakes on the bed started to shimmer while the ketchup was glistening deep crimson. Misty walked up to one of the snakes and stroked it with her forefinger and felt its dark yellow scales. She walked out the room, satisfied, and headed downstairs to prepare breakfast. While she was walking down, she couldn't help but feel that someone was missing out.

She then smacked her forehead and said, "Duh, how could I forget my own dear brother."

"AARRRGH!"

Splash!

"AARRRGH!"

Jacob hurried out of his room, hastily tying his robe. He saw Sarah crawling out her room, trying to get rid of some black hairy stuff and long ropes from her legs and hands. Red liquid was dripping from her hair and she screeched again.

"What's all that?" he asked, alarmed, and ran over to Sarah. Suddenly, Stacey burst open her door and walked out, dripping wet from head to toe.

"O-O-Okay, w-who did th-this?" she asked, hugging herself as she shivered slightly and gave them a piercing glare.

Before they could say anything, they heard a chirpy voice coming up the stairs, "Hey guys, Happy Halloween!"

Misty showed up with a huge grin on her face.

"Misty!" yelled Jacob, helping Sarah up. "What on earth is wrong with you today?"

"What are you talking about, dear brother?" she asked innocently while watching Sarah struggling to her feet and her eyes landed on her ketchup-soaked hair.
