Magnus Chase Point of View:
Magnus sat in his room inside of the Hotel Valhalla, dressed in the usual jean jacket and army green shirt; tattered jeans with his usual pendant (Jack in pendant form) around his neck. He sat in a gray armchair and in his pale skinned hand he held a picture, inside of it was a picture of him and Alex Fierro inside of the snowy plains of Jotunheim, Magnus was similarly dressed like he was now; except in the photo he had his hair shaved short, this was because when this photo was taken his hair was needed for his friend Blitzen to see a magic rune into a giants bowling bag (It's a long story don't ask). But he was not focusing on how obviously bad he looked in the photo, he was focusing on Alex. At that time they were dressed in a pink taintop with a green sweater tied around their waist, they had a nasty welt on their head because when they landed they ran into a branch. But they were still beautiful, smooth tan skin like a mocha coffee, one amber eye & one brown eye with shiny green hair. Since Alex ever arrived in Valhalla Magnus has had a crush on them, Alex always joked about how they caught Magnus staring, Magnus always swore that he wasn't but in reality...he always was.
He wasn't ashamed of it, if Alex always looked that good then how could they blame him for looking. Magnus sighed as he held the picture and then stood up from the chair, walking over to his fireplace mantle he placed the photo back with the others. He then fell backward and landed; slouching in the huge chair. Why does Alex have to make me feel this way, even after all we've gone through it just seems like nothing has changed between them. I just want a sign, anything! Just to know they feel the same. Against his chest, the pendant buzzed; Magnus wrapped his hand around it and softly said "Not now Jack". But the pendant was unrelenting as it buzzed more, Magnus groaned and yanked the pendant off the chain; it glowed golden and extended into a long golden sword with Norse runes carved into the blade. The sword twirled in the air and then spoke, as Jack usually did "Hey Senor! What's got you so glum, your energy is so low I can feel it in pendant form!" Magnus rubbed the temple of his head and then said "I've just...been thinking about Alex again". Jack dipped the top of his blade and did what Magnus thought was a sword sighing "Senor, you've done this about seven times; why not just talk to Alex? It'll be easier". Magnus looked toward the window, gazing into the shimmering gray void outside "I wish it was that easy, Jack". Magnus said "But every time I've tried to talk to Alex, they say they have something they need to do; or they just say they can't talk right now".
"Mhm". Jack said "Well, maybe they're mad at you? I mean you kind of confessed your love while we were all on Loki's ship, in front of Draugr, Giants, Sam, Mallory, Blitz, Hearth, Me-". "I get your point Jack!!" Magnus yelled turning to face the sword making the sword hover backwards a bit; Magnus then calmed down immediately, he never got mad like that at Jack; and Jack is annoying 24/7. Jack hovered a bit twaord the floor and said in a sad voice "Ouch" then his blade form evaporated into golden dust and flew back to Magnus neck where he then resided in pendant form. Magnus sighed and held his head, of course he didn't mean to snap at Jack like that but to be honest he wasn't making the situation any much better. Just then Magnus heard a knock at his door, he pulled himself and walked over to open it only to find nobody there. He looked to the floor and on it was a small pink box with a gilded ribbon on it. On top of the box was the symbol of Loki, two snakes intertwined, Magnus caught his breath in his throat; there was only two people that he knew that were the children of Loki: Samirah Al Abbas, his Valkyrie friend and Alex Fierro.
Magnus slowly cracked open his door enough to lean down and pick up the box. He examined it by turning it in his hands and then found a small white tag on it, he grabbed and then brought it to his face as he read:
"I know I said I needed some space Chase. But drop by my room some time
-Alex🖤"Magnus face flushed as he then opened the box and found something shocking inside. Inside was a clay miniature sculpture of Lokis ship, and what looked like Magnus facing off against Loki on the mast as the others cheered him on. Magnus felt a smile cross his face but that was interrupted as someone from his right side said "Got a little admirer don't ya, Sun Boy". Magnus nearly dropped the tiny ship as he turned to see Mallory Keen, Daughter of Frigg. Magnus rolled his eyes and held up the ship "Like Halfborn doesn't leave you gifts like this, Mack?" Mallory's face turned a slight tone of crimson, she hated being called Mack, it was a inside joke as her initials spelled out M-A-K. Mallory then spoke again "Were gonna be heading out to the dome soon, get Jack ready and come on". She then drew her knives and walked off down the hall as she shoved a few of the Eijgnhar out of her way. Magnus gave a smile and then went inside his room and placed the small ship on his nightstand, he turned and stared at the photo with Alex and him and then he said to himself.
"Soon...I'll drop by soon". Then he walked out of his room where his hall mates were most definitely urging to get killed.
