SOLANGE BROUGHT HER LITTLE ASS TO THE MILLER'S RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL.

She however, would not be staying there long.

"I'm gonna go do something real quick," she told Georgia as she dumped her book bag on the end of the couch.

Georgia was seated on the opposite side of the couch. She was still in her office clothes, but had her heels haphazardly thrown off. "Where to?"

"My house for one."

"Uh huh."

"To get some more clothes for tonight and tomorrow."

"And then?"

The girl shrugged her shoulders uncomfortably. "Around."

Georgia simply nodded. "Paul should be coming over tonight. Be here in time enough for dinner."

Solange nodded before turning for the door.

She was going to see Rosco.

During the day he tended to hang at the Gentleman's Club towards the downtown. It wasn't his club, but it might as well had been. He paid the owner a hefty sum monthly to turn a blind eye.

Rosco's name wasn't on the lease, but nobody had ever thought that the Gentleman's Club wasn't his.

There was a bodyguard at the door. She was big and burly, well over six foot with her brown hair tied in a slicked bun. Helene. Looked like she'd picked up more responsibilities than just chauffeuring.

She dapped Solange up as she opened the door.

The club hadn't changed much.

There was sultry jazz music playing low in the background, warm yellow lighting, and the pungent smell of hookah, marijuana, cigarettes and tobacco mixing.

There was a curtain of plastic beads separating the lobby from the main club. Solanged walked through before standing in place, taking in her surroundings.

There was a woman performing topless on stage for a small crowd of four men. She glanced up at Solange, shock and concern evident on her face as a man stuck a bill in her garter belt.

Two out of the three pool tables had games going on, two people were at the roulette table, three at the bar getting drinks along with a few others sprinkled throughout the room. Ages spanning from middle aged to grandfather old. Rosco wasn't among them however.

Heads turned as she made her way towards the back office, yet nobody said anything to her or made any attempts to stop her.

She didn't knock. She should've.

"Shit! I didn't see anything!" She slapped a hand over her eyes and quickly turned away.

The cluttering of knees hitting the bottom of a desk, sputtered curses and a zipper raising was heard. Solange didn't turn back around or remove her hand from over her eyes until she was told it was safe to do so.
